I have just completed installing a '96 s14 sr20det into my '96 s14 240sx and have been trying to start it for the last half hour or so. The engine turns over but won't start.

My question is: Would the wiring be all plug & play? I have read a lot about s13 -> s13 sr swaps and s13 -> s14 sr swaps but very little about my swap. I vaguely remember my neighbor making changes to his harness, particularly to the two plugs near the battery for his s13 -> s13 sr swap.

Can anyone point me in the right direction? Any info/links provided will be greatly appreciated!

Jon

Did you do any wiring work to your upper engine harness at all? I'm not sure what you mean by plug and play, but it's not plug and play in the sense that the s14 Silvia one works on the s14 240sx chassis.

Yeah I don't understand your PNP question... please clarify...

By plug & play I meant that every electrical connector could simply plug in and not need to be re-pinned. However, I'm finding out quickly that this is not the case.

I have not done any work to my upper engine harness, could you tell me what needs to be done to it? Any links?
Thanks

Unfortunately you're not going to find many people willing to give their S14 pinouts out..contrary to the S13 swap it's actually quite a pain to repin the one connector (the one with 40 something pins).

Your best bet is just to go through the two FSMs and record the pins on the F4 (?was it?) connectors. That's the only thing that needs to be repinned. Well, it's actually the only thing that attaches anywhere on the car.

If you have spark and fuel it could be your orange start wire is not connected.

S14FSM is available on this site for the SR20

Here is the USDM one

Thanks for all the suggestions and fsms guys. I have a couple of Nissan techs coming over here later to look at the car to see if they can help.
