How'd you react when you first saw your car all ripped to ####? That really sucks, your roters get messed up or did they get it on blocks (unlike the civic)? Any idea who it was? it's cause people decided to leave their head unit in the car.

never leave the head unit cause burglars use flashlights and look in every car until they see one with a head unit in it(at least thats what they do around where i live, I've seen it)
so for the future, and to everybody, dont leave head unit inside and buy some friggin wheel locks. and dont leave 5000 cds inside, only bring a couple for each drive, then bring it back to ur house. &nbsp;This should help you all not loose much money even if they still decided to brake in. &nbsp;They wont find jack shit, unless the ass holes wanna steal the carpet. &nbsp;

I agree that it sucks and I agree with speedracer1.

I got hit in September after owning the car for about one month and thankfully didn't have nice wheels. &nbsp;Otherwise, the carnage looks very similar, right down to the expensive ass window! &nbsp;Did they tear out the whole center section of the dash? &nbsp;They also got some CDs, cell phone, etc. &nbsp;It sucked bad, so I feel your pain.

Same night, another car was hit too. &nbsp;Same basic stuff - after market CD player w/ the face on it and some bonus items. &nbsp;Since that day, I haven't left my faceplate in the car for more than two hours. &nbsp;NEVER at night! &nbsp;Ditto the CDs - no more than three at a time, no glasses, no phone, etc. &nbsp;Its a PITA (I drove in 1.5 hrs of traffic this a.m. w/ no radio b/c I left the face at home), but if it keeps my stuff mine, then it's worth it.

BTW: I hope they didn't pull the cars onto a flatbed w/o putting some type of wheels on them! &nbsp;JEEZ that sucks!

man, that's painful, i kinda feel you, my passanger side window got smashed also reacently, the thing about it is, i got my s13 recently... they smashed the window 5 days after i bought it... the alarm went off in the morning, i was asleep, didn't give a ####, it was early in the morning. the bitch is i didn't have theft insurance, the good thing is, the alarm scared 'em away, and i was able to buy a used window for 50 bucks and install it w/ a couple of my friends.

but still, haters... tryin to jack my car...

Don't think you should have to take 15 minutes everytime you stop to unscrew your dash and remove your head unit, and then have to lug (at least in my case) around the 15 lb unit. . hehe. . dunno if you've ever picked up an OEM cass / CD. . but DAAAAAMN. . prolly the reason my car's so slow!! =) &nbsp;

the dicks were too stupid to get the unit out, so they just ripped off the face, it was a pioneer premier 9300, a good 600 dollar unit, im gonna go with the mp3 units so i can put my 215 missed cds into about 20 cds

Grant - no, you cannot shoot theives on your property unless they are placing you in bodily harm (i.e., if they have a weapon and are coming at you). &nbsp;In fact, you cannot even shoot into the air. &nbsp;Trust me on this one - any first year law student could tell you the same. &nbsp;Besides, how many thieves stick around when you so much as turn on a light?

BTW wheel locks arent always effective, especially on imports. because most japanese cars are lighter, compared to american cars, they have a lower weight displacement per rim, and they usually use smaller studs. all u have to do on an import (or any small car, for that matter) is hammer the stud with a couple of good whacks, and it breaks off.

actually eclipse is pretty good as far as stealing with replacement and what not. and check this out...knew a guy here, his headunit got stolen, so the store replaced it. anyways, he gets a call from the store 3-4 days later. the guy that stole it couldnt power up the unit because of the security features, it tells him that he needs to get it serviced, he finds out the place is the only store in town authorized to fix an eclipse head unit, so he takes it in and they identify it as stolen and they call the police. pretty cool story in the end

well i just got the quote from my insurance heres the scoop
2790 total- 500 deductable
this includes cd player 600, rims and tires 1100, painting underside where rocks are, 450 for the window, new dust shields..
now im just getting the window redone, the shop told me about 250...leaving me with 940 pocket after deductable :-) money to get a new head unit (already oredered viper esp 500 alarm) i think since they fucked &nbsp;up the dash where the din is, ill get the carbon fiber trim kit...or just a double din cd player to stuff in there to hide the edges, the trim will cover the rest

BTW: check with your parents about whether the CDs and other stuff may be covered by your homeowners or renters insurnace policy. &nbsp;It usually is - and for 210 CDs it's worth a shot.

They should make a cd player that explodes if you try and remove it without the ignition key in. That would be pretty funny or like if your car would explode and detonate a nuclear device if it was broken into. You could just put a sticker on the window that says 'Nuke Inside'.
