I found a cheap VLSD from a s13 at a junkyard. How long does the stock VLSD last? Is it rebuildable when there is a problem, or do you just toss it? I've tried to look but turned up with unclear answers.

How long a VLSD lasts depends on how the car was driven and the use. (i.e. drifting and hard driving will wear and break down the fluid within the VLSD A LOT quicker then old lady driving)
You CAN NOT rebuild the VLSD/replace the silicone. You next best option is shimming it which I plan on doing myself.

That's why when getting a VLSD I always recommend the J30 diff
1)All J30s are automatic
2)For the most part they're found with low mileage
3)Most are driven by old people
4)You ain't gonna catch grandma burning up rubber on an empty parking lot late at night
