Dee's sn is boost boy. I should be getting my engien from him shortly, he won't have a shippment for a couple months though. Most parts, use a 88 pulsar with the 1.8 engine. a CA18DE. Most parts convert. If you are really going to do this, the best place for info I have found is the CA forum on Nico.

Most parts. Keep in mind, there was a CA18ET, a CA16, a CA20. But the 88 pulsar should be good for most parts, as the DE is almost the same as the DET
i can get you a ca18det turbo manifold like the ones for the sr20det.full stainless. it is 3mm thick and the head and turbo flanges is a bit thicker the 1/2.
it is about $350. no more then that.

raretrick.com has all the hard to find shit that you can't get here. pistons, valvesprings, cams, solid lifters, rods, metal headgaskets... pretty much everything you will need to build up a high revving ca.
takakaira.com can get you just about anything too but their shipping is high. Raretrick is cool, and they even have a tech guy on AIM that will talk to you about the parts you need (and unlike other dickheads he isn't afraid to say "I dont know")

ALRIGHT PEOPLE! I KNOE THAT THIS POST IS HELLA OLD BUT I JUST NEEDED TO BARGE IN HERE!
just to clear things up about the CA18DET;
-parts are NOT hard to find, especially not aftermarket parts. leading performance companies like "jun,hks,arc,greddy,ECT... carrry many parts for this motor.
-CA18det is a full cast iron block w/aluminum head, "unlike the sr20 aluminum block" not sayyng that the ca is a better designed engine. but i was WELL designed for its time...
-about the ca18det age, iits only a few months older./ most sr's have been sitting for arround the same as the ca in jap junk yards..
-175hp 168ft/lbs torque vs. sr 205 hp 210ft/lbs or torque what else can u expect out of a ca..
HOP UP PARTS FOR CHEAP.
88 rx-7 fc3s 13b NON TURBO fuel injectors "440'cc"
s13 sr red top t25 "ar .60" compared to stock ar .48, sr t25 holds 15lbs, ca t25 holds 12
z32 mafs
remove clutch fan for FAL electric fans, and remove as for better cooling (use AC pusher fan harness for 91-14 single electric fan as radiator pusher fan!!!!!!!!!!!! improved cooling..
SPEC, HYPERCLUTCH carry clutch kits for the ca18det
your local auto parts store "autozone, kregen, nissan, pep boys" carry almost all replacment parts for the ca18
ca16de cams, larger duration-=more power, almost equivilent to 91 ka24de cams in 95+ka24de
sr20det hot pipe and cold pipe WILL FIT with small modifications!!!!!
well if anyone has any questions just holler at me!

Good post Slide, there are way too many misconceptions about our motor...
1. Its not hard or easy to find parts for a CA18, aftermarket or oem. It just takes a moderate amount of effort.
2. CA18 is a very balanced motor. Iron block, square bore and stroke, eight runners, weighs less than a SR/KA, and no evil rocker arms.
3. People like to say CA18's are old and have been sitting for a long time. Well this is true but if your planing on buying a red top SR20 than you have to realize its not that much newer.
Of course it does produce less power than a SR and it is a 1.8L. But these arnt very good reasons to overlook this great motor and you can get them for a really good price too. Mine clip was $1,200... What a deal for such a awsome motor.
