I think it's holding in his clutch fan shroud (which is awesome by the way, I wish I could fit a clutch fan in my 2j coupe!). The only downfall to usdm 2jz is the maf haha, good looking swap though!

My friend has a built is300 sport design with the us spec 2jz-gte, the build cost him around 7k and his car is worth 13.5k and he only wants 14.5k, and his car isn't worth 3k on a good day stock, but glws. Hope you get someone to help you out.

5.5k? You must be mistaken this for an SR swap. If that's the case then, how much would you pay for a decent SR swapped S13? 2.2k? Go do some research on a USDM 2JZ-GTE swapped S14 Kouki that's CLEAN, BPU++, and a fan clutch system, and see what you can find. I bet your chance of finding a couple of those is VERY LOW. It's the rareness (supply) and popularity (demand) that deretmine the price in terms of economics. Maybe 14.5k is overpriced or maybe not, that's why it states, "price is negotiable." Trust me, I have a reserved price however, I am NOT a motivated seller. I know one thing for sure, there is no way in hell I'd let it go for 5.5k. I wish you owned car dealership.

LOL, yeah i was saying it to the one with the "kid" in the screenname. I'd put your car in the 380-400whp area too. Auto's usually eat power on the dyno hence the lower reading. My setup was a JDM GTE, with a 3" Intake,2.5" IC piping, small intercooler. USDM Cams,Turbos,Injectors. and a SAFC Neo. with a 3" downpipe and restrictive exhaust.

Do you have the V2 or the V1? Theres alot of maps online that you can usually get from other people. The V2 isn't too bad to use i've gotten my car to run/drive on it. But i let the pro's do the rest of the tuning.

Reported for what? Questioning things? I had no problem with the owner, told him I wish I had this car. Just stated it was over priced and he said without aem ems, which then the car will not run for cheaper. I did nothing wrong, I just never understood 240sx owners. I mean I've had multiple cars, and sold them for what they are worth. Just really don't understand where this 22k figure came from the he had invested. I mean I guess if you had someone do the swap and they over charged is a reasonable thing, he doesn't even show where that 22k was invested. I just was questioning things so other people could understand better too. Seems like some people on here don't understand. I mean if I got this car for 14.5 and second gear is gone in a week I'd be pissed. Then the price would be 15k total for a new tranny, or gearing which I never looked into. .............Which is a great idea as most stock mechanical fans with shrouds move WAY MORE AIR than most if not all aftermarket fans on the market!

If anyone would take the time to look up the flow numbers (with shrouds mind you), many would wonder why people spend 100s of dollars on aftermarket stuff when the stock stuff is more than adequate :wavey:

The shop that did some work on my track car has one for sale for 14.5K and its a 95. So to me, this is a good deal!

As for the core support, I did have to cut about an inch or so to have a clutch can setup. It never overheated however, the coolant temp would rise above the optimal temp mark with the AC blasting going 80mph+ when it had the dual FAL fans so I did some research and decided to fabricate the clutch fan setup.

FYI, no electric fan will out perform a clutch fan. The stock 2jzgte fans move about 3600cfm @1.8k rpm when engaged. Those FAL fans only move about 2500cfm, max. The electrical fan setup would cut it if you don't have a condenser however, my s14 has a functional ac system so I needed optimize the cooling capacity to the limit by mimicking the stock supra setup. Trust me, I spent a ton of time researching about engine cooling on 2j on my iPhone during class, lol.

dont forget something - the purpose of the fans are to keep your engine cool when the vehicle IS NOT moving. too many people think the fans keep the engine cool during driving. they do not. in fact, they can actually cause less air to flow through the radiator at speed. thats why less cfm moving fans work.

Have you ever had e fans going out you on a highway? I've experienced this with my sr once before due to poor connection and eventually overheated. I've always thought that fans don't have much use on the highway since there is actually moving air hitting the radiator. However, it depends on your setup - when you have the radiator hidden behind a thick front mount and a condenser, the characteristics of the air flow dramatically changes and creates turbulence. I'm a business major by all means so I can't speak much about science or physics in detail however, all I know is that the thickness and the angle of the front mount, as well as the availability of surface area for oncoming air on the bumper (front end design, shrouds, ducts, ect.) play a significant factor in cooling the coolant present in the radiator with or without the aid of fans on the highway.
