Hello all, i am currently having a little issues with my 97 s14 with RB20DET.
I starting to relocate the fuse box to the trunk so i cut/extend and moved all the wires. I also installed RB20DET using Wiring Specialities brand new wiring harness. The engine would crank but did not turn over, upon troubleshooting i found that i was not getting any spark. I was also not getting the cluster lights but dummy lights were their. So i went ahead a got new coilpack and ignitor just in case.
Also i decided, after trying to figure figure out no power to cluster i decided i wanted to put a stock fusebox harness in. So i found a guy selling a fuse box harness for same year and model (97 se w/ sunroof, a/t)

Today i installed the new harness along with ignitor and coilpack. After getting everything hooked up. i was not able to even get the engine to crank, the ignition relay 2 and accessory relay seemed to be constantly clicking when i was turning the key to start.
So i am really confused as what would be causing this to happen. it was cranking fine with the old fusebox harness.
i got power to the cluster backlight but no power to audio.

Also my car had a Python security/Alarm system hooked up to the old harness. and when i installed the new harness i did not connect the wires to the new harness. As i did plan to get the system replaced with a better one once car is running. So i dont know if that is making it not turn over.

I did research the topic and some point to starter being bad, but it was working fine before.
i would appreciate any help i can get to resolve this issue.

Thanks alot!

You have to go wire chasing my friend. It is hard to diagnose these problems over the Internet. Refer to nicoclub for RB wiring help

yea...but it should'nt involve anything with engine harness correct? cuz that is all brand new from Wiring Specialties. Tracking should be only in the fusebox harness or the body harness somewhere. any specific place to start looking at?

I had a similar problem. I had messed with the timing instead of inspecting the harness first.

I got a WS harness and set the timing right, still engine did not want to crank.
Turned out to be an ungrounded wire and the starter wire was loose also the spark plugs were flooded.

So no it should not be the new harness, but like greenwood said its hard to diagnose over the interwebz.
