well ive had the car for about 6months w/ the swap, and just now raced a friend. My car is an 89 w/ redtop, Hybrid fmic, megan racing catback w/ stock DP and 2.5in straight pipe, MBC set at ~10psi.
friend has a civic hatch 94ish model? w/ h22 swap exhaust injectors, fuel rail and headers as far as i know. he had a friend in the car and has a blown exhaust gasket i think, he said he was running 89 octane, im runnin 93 (as always)

first we start from a roll, he got me by about a half car, then we slowed back down did a roll from say 40 or so, pretty close but i took him. we went on for quite a few more races, like 3 from a stop, (i had never launched my car b4) so i have heard best way was to slip the clutch which i did from about 2600ish rpm and it was nice bc of boost was built up apparently and took him quick. we continued doing rolls from various speeds, everytime i took him. Was an awesome experience and really saw what my car can do. pretty nice up top, or better than i thought, i shifted right around redline usually never in red zone, and was surprised i still pulled from up that high b/c the car seems like it tops off up high, which i guess not...

btw in 2 weeks im gonna go to the dyno to tune b/c i think its timing is off, its running rich and i think its hitting fuel cut right around 10psi...

thanks for reading
-Jeff

it seems like you've not really driven you're car. if you're just barely pulling him, somethings wrong. driver skill or lack of knowledge of knowing how to drive your car... since it was your first race of 6 months having an sr swap. i'd say you should be in the 13s in the 1/4 on the hatch 14s in the 1/4. oh well, at least you beat him. ;) congrats man.

Eh the cars are pretty evenly matched. Civic is about 2300lbs with ~200hp with an H22. SR would probably be making 240hp but maybe less if the timing and mixture are off, and weighs 2700lbs.

It's common that hatches with h22 swaps run consistent 13s all day, so I wouldn't be surprised. Sounds like fun.

howmuch does a 96 s14 weigh exatcly? my friends say ther boats....and also an other friend has a 91 fastback and says his car weighs like 2900 and that mine woud weigh hella lot more..?

i did walk him at end of 2nd gear, thats when i always shut down (from the stop) and i was constantly pulling... didnt wanna sound too cocky in my first kill post :) but yea it wasnt just a stock h22 it had headers, and fuel upgrades, and a few other things besides exhaust..
i dunno i thought it was a good kill since he took a guy at work w/ a GT w/ a few mods... but i dunno how i match up against a gt so...
thanks for the compliments i think?

Isn't that your g/f's car with a H22 in it? I was positive she had a H22 in it, so did you race your g/f?

I'm gonna drive that SOB one day Jeff.

There's a guy that lives around here that used to have a civic hatch with stock h22 ... he ran a 12.6 (I've seen the time slip). He has an s13 with rb26 now, but that's besides the point. I guess it's easy to start thinking a honda will never touch an sr20 when you spend all day in 240 forums lol.

omg! you should be pulling 10-flats with that ESSS ARRR!!!
your boost gauge must be reading negative or something.

Your friend shouldn't be running 89 octane in an H22... I used to own an '97 Prelude and the FSM and owners manual both recommend 91 or higher. Very nice engine though... pulled good, has great top-end and VTEC sounds wonderful on 'em. :)

Ok i thought it was an accord, but I wasn't sure. I knew it had a H22 though, I'll see you later sometime though. peace.

An SR will not rape a hybrid civic. Nevermind the king of hybrids, the H22. Those motors are stout, and respond well to mods. If you think the SR has a money gear.. you've never been in a honda 3rd gear. Just to let you know.. in the 1/4, a 240 shifts into 4th.. the honda is in 3rd with revs to go. That's a .15 second difference right there.
'89 weighs 2689 pounds, minus about 30 for the sr. A '96 weighs in around 2753 pounds with a manual tranny. Add about 100 pounds for the slushbox.

yeah, hybrid hondas can be VERY fast...very...:(

my SR is pretty strong i suppose, i always worried it was no good...but it runs really freakin well...i've outrun 350z's and my dad in his G35...so i'm purty sure it's a good motor...

i think it's good for high 13's as is...once i get an LSD and some properly sized tires, oh it's over :)

if you beat him then that sucks for the h22. i had a h22 in ek before my civic was stolen and full int. and just few eng. mod i was in 13's .. 12's after 50 shot. though 240ka-t is just sexy and a shit load funner to drive
