View Full Version : foul exhaust smell in passenger cabin

Hi all , recenlty after i change to a 3 inch catback exhaust system whenever i start to drive the car , there is a terrible exhaust smell coming from dont know where....i would like to know how can i check for leaks as i am sure there is none and is there anyway or any chemical i could spray to seal the leak.....thanks a lot
the car idles fine and all......pls advise thanks

drive it for a few days, climb underneath the car with a treble light and look for black soot around the joints.
Thats the easiest and most obvious way i can think of.

In the trunk where the scissor jack is stored on both sides, you will notice an opening. And in that opening is the source of your troubles...

my source of trouble? i dont understand man......care to enlighten me more or how i could fix it?........or anyway to detect the leak
im guessing the hoels in your spare tire well? the holes that let water out, if waterever got into the well?
and the opening where the scissor jack, as he stated.

also a good way to check for leaks would be to use water. If the water bubbles then you have a leak. Try when it is cold so you dont pour cold water on hot exhaust system and crack it or warp.

if there is a leak...anyway i could fix it?......like any sealant i should get to seal it?

weld it. or also check your exhaust gaskets too.
