Depending if its a Neo version or not for the BB unit. Its most likely the Journal. I would do the same thing as what Sil said, find a cheap replacement.

Once your ready for an upgrade, and tune gtx, precision,bw :P

Just saw someone posted rb25 turbos with steel wheels in them for 800+your core. Flow up to 450hp. Not a bad deal IMO and I'm probably going to drop the cash on one. Would love a top mount setup but I cannot afford right now. The manifolds are the killer haha.

Ball bearing turbos but they cant make them without fucking nylon wheels?!?! Fucking nissan...

PS: Been running the turbo with no water lines...would have been nice to know before i deleted all the waterlines that I should be running them for a BB turbo.

Wait, how the hell is it BB? It doesnt spin like a damn BB...

Only the later S2 turbos had the nylon wheel, the S1's came with a metal compressor wheel.

They do.

I know they are, Ive ripped apart one awhile ago.

what the shit???
NO.

i mean, technically, "yes", you could run it as an NA engine, but the fact that its designed to be boosted, the compression ratio and pistons are set up for boost, and you'd have to change ecu tuning and delete all intercooler piping and all that shit. . . . . .

yeah. NO.

I thought i read somewhere that you can use Z31 turbo on the RB20/25, is it true? Figured if its a complete bolt on, its another/cheap replacement option for a turbo.

All the RB turbos are Ball Bearing.

Should help a bit with differences.

RB25 s1/s2 vs RB25 NEO turbo - differences? - Page 2 (http://forums.gtrcanada.com/gts-tech/37198-rb25-s1-s2-vs-rb25-neo-turbo-differences-2.html)

Rb20 are bb but main downfall is there ceramic exhaust wheel and can simply not take the heat and usually fail over time around 14psi or higher/ 1 bar.

All the RB turbos have the ceramic exhaust wheel except the Neo turbo.

I thought that some of the Neo turbos also have ceramic exhaust wheel. I thought the Neo Garrett turbo was the only one that does not have a ceramic exhaust wheel. Not all Neos have the Garrett turbo.

From my understanding its the R34 Neo's that have the steel wheel. Not sure on the other Neo Models.

The R34 Neo exhaust turbine has a high temp coating as well
