I've heard that as long as the tranny bell housing is a DOHC then it should mate up.

So long as the tranny is from a 91-94 then I think you're good to go.

all are the same just the bell housing is different the s14 bell housing has a sensor on top of the bell housing and the s13 don't

I've heard that you also need the ecu from the manual and a sensor which the s14 has. I am planning to do it also but it may take a while to find everything. I believe those two are the biggest problems.

Yes, they are the same

The tranny's are identical, the engine's aren't

they are not exactly the same, but all will bolt in place of each other.

the s14 has a crank angle senor that reads off the flywheel. the sensor bolts into the top of the bellhousing. s13 does not have a spot for it.

the car will run fine, but you will have trouble codes/check engine light. it will throw a code for crank sensor, and 2 different auto trans trouble codes.

Oh Dear God..... same gear ratio, same mounting holes.... Its the same transmission.... the S14 just has a hole in the bellhousing.....

yeah, and if he cares about his check engine light, he will want the s14 trans.

when someone like you tells them they are the same, and then finds out they arent, it sucks.

Mmmm maybe I'll try the swap for the S13 since it's easier to get... Although I would mind about the check engine light, hahaha I always make fun of Volkswagens with their dash boards lighting up like a christmas tree from all the warning lights.

I blew the trans in my s14 and replaced it with an s13 KA trans. Drilled the hole for the sensor, and that was that. No CEL, no issues.

Cuz its so hard to drill a hole through Aluminum.

His question was "will it fit" answer to said question is yes it will fit.

Stfu nerd, you didn't even mention the damn sensor so he could do that, you just said they are the same.

Who did you pay for that guru tag? Always going around give 1/2 info.

he didnt ask about the sensor. All he asked is would it fit.

Now if he asked will it fit and is anything else needed to make the S13 trans work with the S14 electrical system then that info might have been given.

Remember not everyone has to deal with Cali's Gay ass laws.

Also my guru tag only mentions SR's and RB's. Not KA's which that sensor is for KA's only

How bout you check out my build threads and see how much 1/2 info I give out.

:picardfp:

Yes i know which is why I mentioned the Cali thing because you referred to the sensor which only Cali really cares about it.....

You do know that sensor is for OBD systems only, it will not affect how the engine runs at all. So those of us that dont care about it dont worry about it

and again, he is in cali, so you should have mentioned it, if you knew. you probably didnt. keep arguing with me, youlll still be wrong.

any state that has obd2 inspections will care about it actually. you must be an expert.

You're both acting like children. You're splitting hairs. How about someone decides to be the bigger person here? Because you both look like nine year olds arguing over some dumb shit that doesn't even matter.

If you were arguing over the IMPORTANCE of the sensor, that would be one thing. You're not though. You're arguing about one of you neglecting to give that information. Really? Children, settle down.

im sorry I fail to see how any of my post makes me sound like a child.
Maybe if I was screaming in CAPS and throwing cuss words and your momma insults then yeah i could see that.

Arguing over the importance of that sensor would be childish since there is no importance.

Contrary to what your parents led you to believe as a child, Grown men argue as well. So unless you have something important to add to this thread Mister 331 posts I kindly ask you to Fuck Off.

Thanks.

My bad, should have realized interjecting between two babies would be a bad idea. Glad we sorted out that whole sensor issue though, that was a real brain buster. :picardfp: :cj: ;)

Im in the same boat as the OP, except mine is a 96. What is the importance of the CAS? Exacxtly where would i drill to fit the s14 CAS? Check engine lights are REALLY annoying to me...

Thanks in advance.

like I mentioned before, its for OBD only, does not affect engine performance.

I saw a thread on here awhile ago of some showing how to do it.

is your S14 at 96+ for OBD2? or 95 and still OBD1, maybe that could be why it works?

Haha, holy shit man, I'm looking at picking up a 96 auto later this week. I have all the parts except the bell housing, manual drive shaft and clutch petal. Let me know how this thing turns out. I don't have a clue where I could find an S14 bell housing.

like I mentioned before, its for OBD only, does not affect engine performance.

Wait, I thought the CAS was so the ECU knew when to open the injectors? How else would it know?
