Sorry this thread is usless without pics...I know...but I just wanted to let you guys know how it's turning out and what I did(incase anyone wants to do the same)

Ok fiirst I sanded it down with a hand sander and got the yellow shit off. Next I used epoxy like what used to harden fiberglass and smoothed that over the entire surface. This gives it a VERY hard and smooth surface to work with. Two layers(coats) of that then I started sanding. This is the time consuming part. I started off with 600 grit paper then 1000 then finished with 1500. This thing is like a peice of glass. I started painting it with glossy black krylon paint, I applied about 6 coats. I bought some krylon triple thick clear coat finish. Here's were you can change it up. I originally wanted this thing to look as smooth as glass. I put 2 coats of this clear coat on and it gave it a little bit of a texture. I wasn't very happy with it at first but now I think it actually looks better. But if you want that glass look buy a different clear coat! I'm almost done with it. I'm just going to put on a couple more coats of clear coat, but with some very smooth clear coat. As soon as this thing is all done and back in my car I'll post pics. Hopefully next week sometime, cause I'm moving this weekend so i wont have time to finish it.

Oh sorry for it being such a long post.

it sounds, like he just added a bondo poly resin layer to his glove box and then sanded it and painted it gloss black?

I started to do this (I had a spare glove box lying around) and sanded for a while.....2 hours later I gave up. So to clean up my existing box, and my door panels, I used one of those powered lint removers. Worked Great! :coolugh:

yea you can't just sand the glovebox it'll never get smooth. You have to put another surface over it that can be sanded smoother.

i reupholstered mine with black leather, took me about 10 mins and it has a OEM quality look, matches my s13's black vinyl door panels(took the tweed off)
