Ok, so i picked up a welded last night for my s14. unbolted everything on the open diff that is on the car already. axles off, driveshaft bolts off, and the two studs that come off the cover and go into the subframe nuts are off to.
the problem i'm having is the stud on the cover on the drivers side WILL NOT come out... i've tried for over 3 hours now with huge pry bars, hammers, and kicking the living crap out of it and it won't budge. it's like the bushing is holding it in there and won't let go. the other stud slides out no problem...

I really don't want to but is the only way to get it out just to take a torch to it?

Can some penetrating oil be sprayed in there at all? I would try that, but I am a bit unclear on this subject

Jack it up on the diff. Then hit stud with plastic mallet.

There are two nuts on one of the diff cover studs. Make sure both have been removed.

hammered at it for 30 minutes and it budged. no idea why it was that much effort but it's out and welded is in lol

I know this is already solved but another option is unbolt the diff cover and just leave it on the car or work at removing it after all the weight from the diff is off the bolts.

there was a washer on one of the studs that was to small for it. it was getting stuck on the threads making it stupid hard to get it out. ended up breaking the washer that's how much i had to hit it lol
