Hi,
Im swapping soon my stock crown wheel and pinion(3.6) to JDM S14 4.083 final ratio.
I need some help before I start with the swap:
I got the pinion without the bearing like in this pic, Can I use my stock pinion bearing?

Does the stock bolts fit to new crown?
Any modifications/changes I have to do or just pull out the old parts and put in the new ones?

Thanks!

It's called a Ring and Pinion not a Crown and Pinion. If you're new stuff is from a R200 differential, it's all swappable, except for the axles stubs. They are specific to the diff, I.e. VLSD, HLSD and Open differentials all have their own to be used with them.

You will need to shim your differential properly, otherwise you run the risk of shearing all the teeth from the pinion and/or the ring gear as you have already done.

Also, ring and pinions are sets. They need to be swapped out together as a unit. Do not mix and match them.

Don't be surprised when you're running higher rpms on the interstate either. Your going from a 3.6 to a 4.1, you'll see an increase.

Thanks for the information!

Yes, the parts are from R200 diff ,Im swapping the both parts as set, no mixing ;)
Can you explain about "need to shim your differential"?

Btw: about the bearing, Can I fit the stock one to 0.483 pinion?

Thanks! :)
