Has anyone heard of this? I recently picked up an 89 coupe and the owner, who's mother bought it brand new, gave me the window stick and some other goodies. On the window sticker for options it had:

Ziebart Protection Pkg.
Includes: $695.00
Undercoating
Rust Proofing
Paint Protection
Fabric Protection

Then, while digging through the other stuff I found a certificate looking page that says it has a lifetime warranty for those things. Here's a scan:

And the back side:

Of course it does say that the amount can't exceed the current NADA value. Average value for this thing is ~$3200 which is at least paint.

The question is, am I reading this correctly. Can I take advantage of this like the seat belt warranty? I have never heard of this protection before now.

And since we all like pictures, here's the coupe I got for $500

well it's a little hard to say if you can or can't since we don't know what you want to take care of. Plus, looks like there's more on the back...

I have updated the original post to show a scan of the back side. I'd be mainly concerned with paint. If I had more coverage I gues MAYBE the carpet even though it only shows wear near the pedals, other than that it looks new. The battery tray is completely rusted through, although short of finding another chassis and cutting that section out there's no fix that will look factory.

Ive seen Old school Caddy with a sticker on the window that has the same protection. Didnt know it was lifetime protection though! Call them up and take advantage of it :)

I guess that's the most I can do at this time. The only thing throwing me off is the "annual maintenance". There's nothing stating what's required.

I did! No motor though. Everything but the battery tray and clearcoat on the roof is mint. It was owned by a woman in her 30s or 40s.

Damn I'm gonna have to check my window sticker when I get home.

In the transfer section, it appears that in order to transfer the warranty, it would have had to have been validated every year since purchase (my comprehension of their wording may be off though). Best bet would be to try and contact the company though.

Seen those before, if the original owner missed even one validation its void. It appears this one has never had a validation so it cannot be transferred.

Ahh. Damn. I'm assuming it was already applied when the woman bought it and couldn't get it taken off. I can't see someone paying $700 for something and then doing absolutely none of the requirements. Oh well. I think some wet sanding and re-clearing the roof and hood would do wonders for the car.

Well if she did take it in she never got the paper signed like she needed, unless they keep the originals somewhere else. Also its funny there is not even a Ziebart on the south east coast anymore, if this car was in FL it might have not been worth the money to take it to an existing office.
