hey guys whats up
i just got tein HA coilovers for my s14, and guess what they hits the tire not sure about the rim on my r34 GTR wheels up front.
the wheels are 18x9 with a 30 mm off set. does anybody know or can tell me what size spacers are need to run. The size tire on the front is a 245-40-18.
could i just get away with putting smaller tires or will they for sure rub the rim. they are 18x9 all the way around, with 245,s and 30 mm offset all the way around. id really hate to now really have to sell the wheels. TIA
IIRC you need 5mm or 10mm spacers to run that size with coilovers. not sure. wait around someone will know

at least a ten. figure out whats hitting the coilover first. but a ten should do it and flush the wheels out very nicely. put them all around though.

You'll know if the wheel itself is rubbing on the coilover, you'll hear and feel it grinding.
Ditto what Steeles said, 10mm (maybe more on account of the larger tires) all around and you should be golden. Either get bolt-on spacers or regular spacers and long studs, don't try to run 10mm spacers with your stock lugs

forgot the longer studs... I dont think they make boltons that skinny do they?

well they hit the tire before it would get to the rim so i dont know for sure if or if not they would hit the rim, it will almost go all the way on before the tire touches
the pictures are there obviosly the coil overs are not on the car i did not wantt o put them on the back and not the front. the backs dont rub by the way. My only worry is that the wheels are pretty flush already, and they might stick out to much with the spacer.

just get spacers.
its my understanding that although they may be flush now, once you go lower you will have more negative camber and they will remain flush with the fender with a spacer. without the spacer they may be sunk on the front once your slammed. You may need to switch to a 235 or 225 as well. I would do that last though

Yeah you're right, just 15mm+ bolt-ons.

wheel is too wide for the front. spacers can cause vibrations so try a 235 series tires first.

shut up if you don't know what you are talking about. Those wheels are not too wide. Many people with 240's run 9" wide front wheels and some run wider. And spacers do not cause vibrations. Not torquing your lug nuts down will cause vibrations but spacers will not. He is going to need to run a spacer, simple as that. don't take this personally.

i have to change tires anyway so when i take the rim off the tire i guess ill try them out . see if they fit.

I'd recommend a 225/40 or 225/45.

i don't know as much as you do. i was only told not by one but few wheel shops not to use any spacers and when asked why they said it can cause vibrations at certain speed, so maybe they are just BSing me with false informations. :axe:

... homie dont listen to most wheel shops, they know both jack and shit. i had many places here in sac tell me that there would be no way in hell that i could fit a 235 on a 9in wide wheel and then fit that onto the front of my s14  generic wheel spacers can cause vibrations, but some nice H&R ones or even the tougefactory ones i have heard are both some quality isht.

I've run 25mm spacers for over a year. they are fine retorque um when you rotate tires or every couple months. spacers cause no harm. slap the next grease monkey that tells you that

steeles do they have the hubcentric ring? or are you one of the many who doesnt utilize it? not tryin to hate, just tryin to decide between the Tougefactory ones or the H&R ones. shed some light brova!

nope no ring. hell Im not even sure what brand they are lol. but yeah I dont retorque them often as I should probably but they've held up to all sorts of varied abuse. Dousan is still the spacer master rocking the gold 30mm for a looooooong ass time. i wanna find a set of hubcentric spacer to put on to see if theres a noticable difference.

I think you will need a 12~15mm spacer, I have tried 18x8 in the front with 30 offset and there is about 4mm space between the coilver and the tires (235/40/18). For that ONE INCH extra width, you will probably need a 15mm spacer to play save.
**** I think you need wide fender too *** : )
