Someone please explain this to me - I recently bought a JUN-style intake manifold, with a GReddy fuel rail for top feed injectors. The previous owner used Delphi 998cc EV1 injectors, which are 72mm in length.
I'm going to run ID2000/Bosch 2200cc EV14 injectors, and I'm seeing that there are length adapters for them. But the thing is, the Delphis are 72mm long, and with the 14mm adapter on the 2200s, they are 60mm.
Numerous sites say that the new style injectors (EV14) are shorter than the old style (EV1), and that the adapters fix this - but why are the Delphis 72mm? It's not like they invented their own size standard..
I'm just confused that's all - should the 60mm 2200cc fit my intake?
