I'm running an S1. If I could do it all over again, I'd still take the S1/S2 over the Neo for the simple reason of parts availability. Sure Neo has the solid lifters and better stock turbo but thats about the only advantage it has. Lack of aftermarket parts kills it.

At that horsepower would i need to convert a s1/2 to solid lifters

Not even close, maybe a head gasket if anything.

Nopes, just some procams, better valve springs, ARP head studs and metal HG. Stock bottom end can handle that but you can upgrade to better pistons if you want since the stock piston ring lands are probably the weak link of the bottom end.

600hp ur more than likely going to crack piston ring lands, RB is a solid motor and will even hold high boost pressure with stock head bolts and head gasket, neo is better because of solid lifters, GTR rods (stronger), oil pump drive collar on the crank revised, u can run AEM on anything, just need to wire it, and use the AEM cas disk for the r34 sensor

Hello all from South Africa..

+1 on the above, running Neo in my S14, stock but for pon cams..400 odd w/hp on a GT3582R all day long..
Really appreciated the vario cam when still cammed stock.
