Reason for selling:
Even though I hate to do this, I’ve decided for simplicity and more or less “streamlining” my life, I’m selling my 240 and the Camaro. I just picked up a 2006 GTO and will be using that as my only car. My wife and I plan to start a family soon and I can’t have 18 cars all over the place. It’s too much of a pain in the ass to maintain everything and keep them all shiny.
Brief Background:
I’ve put quite a bit of money into this car. It’s been my baby and project for quite some time now. The car has a $4000.00 paint job and over $4000.00 in parts on it…on TOP of the price of the car. I understand cars are a shitty investment but hey, it’s all in fun and getting them running and looking like they should right? If I kept it, I'd go down the LS1 road and I really don't want to hack up a nice car like this for a Frankenstein project. I want someone to get this thing and enjoy it.
On that note, I’m listing the car for sale. There’s nothing that it will need after I finish wet sanding the paint out. I just haven’t had two spare seconds lately but plan to finish it this weekend. You'll have to excuse the car salesman type material contained...it was written for Craigslist, E-Bay and Autotrader. Figured I would post it here first to give the .net guys a deal. Here’s the official ad.
Year: 1998
Make: Nissan
Model: 240SX
Trim: SE
Miles: 111,XXX (Driven Daily so mileage will change)
State: FL
City: Jacksonville
I have a 1998 240sx SE for sale with a 5 speed manual transmission that is basically better than factory new. I have gone over this car from head to toe restoring it and have finally finished the project. The car wasn’t in bad condition to begin with but in order for me to be happy with a car, I have to get everything as close to perfect as humanly possible. I’ve done that with this car and I feel it’s time to move on. All glass was removed for the paint job and the factory Nissan black paint was used with a Mercedes Benz ceramic clear coat which is much more durable and scratch resistant than standard clears. The car was painted by Eddie at Fleming Island Auto Body. He can testify to the prep work and quality materials used for this car ($4000.00).
I am personally buffing it to a perfect shine after wet sanding down to 4000 grit. There is no orange peel, no rock chips, no dents, scrapes or anything of that nature. I focused on converting the car from an automatic into a manual using brand new OEM Nissan parts ($750.00) with the exception of an Exedy Stage 1 clutch for added holding capabilities and a Z1 Motorsports one piece driveshaft ($300.00). No corners were cut and everything functions as it should. All brand new bushings were installed for the entire driveline causing the car to lose its 111,000 mile feel and becoming just as tight and responsive as a brand new car off the show room floor if not better. The car rides on a set of Bridgestone Pole Position 930 tires ($640.00) wrapped around factory wheels which have been freshly rotated and balanced ($64.99) . The car drives laser straight due to a one week old alignment ($110.00) and brand new steering rack bushings ($34.99).
The car was given a more aggressive tone while still maintaining a low profile with a brand new 2.5” stainless steel BRM cat-back exhaust ($560.00
During all of this maintenance and upgrade work, all fluids were flushed and changed with factory specified fluids. Everything on this car was completed by the book and sometimes we threw the book out and went above and beyond…which is the majority of the time.
You’re basically buying a brand new 240sx in 2012.
The car has been freshly detailed from top to bottom and is ready for a new home.
Here is a more comprehensive list of maintenance/replacement parts installed on the car within the past few months. All parts have less than 1000 miles total on them.

This car has better *perfect* paint than factory, has tighter (BUT STILL BEARABLE) suspension and steering, all new fluids, always kept up with maintenance and has well over $8000.00 in new items installed. If you want a better than factory functioning/looking car, you have come to the right place.
Never been raced, never been drifted. I’m a middle aged owner who wanted to keep this car in the best condition possible and replace/restore any and all parts that didn’t match my standards (I’m a detailer with OCD so yeah, they’re pretty damn high). I don’t beat on my cars and I’m very detail oriented when it comes to general upkeep.
Not looking for any trades but out of state sales are fine. Your check or whatever you send will have to clear my bank before I so much as move my ass from the couch to get the keys. I don't need to sell, I do not trust the world and will take every precaution to ensure I don't get screwed by some low life piece of shit. The buyer WILL be responcible for setting up the shipping of the car and the full cost of shipping said car. I will drive it within 30 miles of my home to get it to where you need it to be dropped off.
I am flexible on price but within reason. Considering the condition of the car and the fact that you can’t find a cleaner example of a 240sx in any year, my price is set at $8500.00 cash. That’s less than the parts and paint I’ve invested within the last few months.
I know a lot of guys will think I'm crazy on the price but I know it will sell. You can't find them like this in as good of conditon anymore. I went through the hell of fixing everything that it needed done and then some.
Here's a few to show the quality of the paint job:

I'll have pictures up as soon as it stops pouring rain 24/7. I've just been crazy busy. Just bought a new car, parting one car out and now selling this one while working full time and going to school...
