what would happen if you de-stroke the ka24de by 5mm and bore it by 1mm and add longer rods?
sorry if this has been cover before, tried to search, redirect me if you can but if this topic hasn't then i have open ears.
what would happen if a person done this with professional head work, turbo, cams, valve springs,etc... also?

?? Am I missing something here??? Umm....bore a KA24DE by 1mm? I wouldn't bore it that much....lol. What would be the point of destroking and putting longer rods??
Head work+turbo+cams+etc=more power :duh:

Its been done, but normaly they change the crank some, so that you can rev higher and faster. Im sure more ppl will give more info
1mm is perfect bore from 89 to 90mm. .040 over. that's about the max recommended "safe" bore. I dont see the point of destroking to rev higher cause you'd take away from the Ka's signature characteristic=torque. You can build a VERY powerful KA and still keep the bottom end of your powerband, and still rev to a decent rpm. If i were to bother de-stroking the KA, it would be na and i would have to make sure it was gonna rev to 8500 rpm with at least 200whp.
