I didnt think it would work but NA z32 brake do fit in stock se wheel...it shocked the hell outta me becuase my 17" rims would not fit. The space btwn the calipers and the brake is about the thickness of 2 quarters. That sh*t is soo close jesus :hsdance:

Volk TE37s would clear nicely.. buy a set of those. :)

Caliper clearance is based on spoke design rather than wheel size parameters (diameter, width, offset, etc.), so your 17s not clearing doesn't surprise me. A lot of wheels won't, it's just the way they're designed.
There's actually two styles of S13 SE wheels, one that clears 26mm Z32 calipers and one that doesn't. Looks like we both got lucky (I was also running 26mm calipers with my 7-spokes, and you're right, it's very close).

i've always heard that there are two different types of wheels but everyone always has the three web design. are there pictures out there somewhere of both designs because i'm starting to disbelieve that there are two types.

There's definitely two styles.
First picture (left) clears the 26mm calipers. Second picture (right) does not.

2 quarters? weaksauce.
I have a buddy who has about .5mm between his calipers and his wheels. if that.
anyhoo.. i have +40 offset wheels that clear my z brakes with EASE.. and my old GT-R wheels had plenty of room.

The brakes are a bit softer than b4 (pedal effort) but the braking is much better. I can actually stop now!! :Ownedd:

uhh yeah, i have this setup as well for quite some time now actually. There is truth to the two different style's of se wheels, but to narrow it down to a certain year is anybody's guess. I say this becuae i have 91 se's and they are the design that clear them, but have also heard they were on the 93's too. Pretty much it's all hearsay (sp?) hell if you are really persistant on sticking with se's just fell around behind the spokes and if you feel 2 rib's behind your golden.. haha to r- whatever your name is, hope you like hearing squeaking noises, from the front. the two pins that retain the pads will have a bit of play to the point where they just get sheared off. Anyway the only reason i stuck with se's was b/c i was to poor to afford anytheing else. Hmm, softer pedal after MC install, ehhh? i noticed a signifcant change (FIRM) and i used a 1 1/16th mc, with a chopstick SPL to get a nipple fitting... anyway get that checked out possible air in your lines i know i had air in mine for a while, anyway best of luck.

im about to do the 30mm upgrade, i have the SE wheels that clear 26mm's and i was wondering if i couldnt just put a lil 4mm washer on the lug before bolting my wheels on? i know that a bunch of washers stacked up would be unsafe but if i just put 1 or 2 just to get the clearance does anyone think that would still be safe? has anyone tried this before? i mean, i would still have more than enough threads for the lugs to thread on to. someone let me know if they've tried something like this, im just trying to get out of buying new wheels for a while. thanks for any info

Just go with a 5mm spacer, they're cheap. Using washers sounds way too ghetto dangerous.

S14 SE rims also clear the 300zx tt 30mm brakes. Thought this was common knowledge. I just don't have time to take pics of it.
