i own a stock s13 and its has no top end at all and u have to all admit it sucks on a s13 and that only thing that sucks on a stock one.anyways im doing a sr20det sawp soon and im concern about the top end .will it have a good top end if i install a bigger turbo than the stock one <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='???'>?<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='???'>?<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='???'>140 i wana hit .. maybe with some ZEX nos

You'll hit 140 with a stock SR. The reason you have no top end speed is because of the speed limiter.
PS don't buy ZEX please.
"will it have a good top end if i install a bigger turbo than the stock one..." A bigger turbo won't up your top speed any.

yeah, the top speed is determined by the gear ratio on the top gear. im tired as shit, so lets see if i can be coherent in explaining this...
your engine (with the det) will redline at 7500...to put it REALLY simply, if you had a 1:1 gear ratio, in theory your wheels would be going at 7500 rpm as well. since all the gear ratios arent 1:1, lets say your gear ratio in 5th gear is 4:1, then your wheels in theory would be spinning 30,000 times per minute. adding more horsepower isn't going to change that. to increase top speed you can either raise the redline by making it safer to rev your engine (higher revving drivetrain parts, crank, rods, etc.), or change to a higher gear ratio (expensive as nuts). of course, its not this simple - there are other factors, such as the size of the wheel, the final drive ratio, etc., but i'm too tired to get into that.
oh yeah, and why put nitrous on the sr? its already turbo, it'd be more cost effective and easier to put on bigger turbos, bolt-ons, shit like that, and have that power all the time, instead of nitrous, which is limited. of course, its all up to u, but i'd only put nitrous on the ka...or at least it makes more sense to. yeah....sorry...just rambling.

I got my auto 90' 240 up to 130 before I had to slow down b/c of traffic. I think 130 is a pretty good bit of top end.
yeah, autos generally have a higher top speed than manual. If he has a manual than I dono if he could get it up that high w/out hitting the revlimiter (assuming he took the speedlimiter off)

There are two ways to up your top speed, as mentioned here. First - remove speed limiter. Second - enough power to max out your revs in your highest gear. Third - adjust your ratios.
Since crazy was tired, I will explain what is probably the simplest way: get a 300zx turbo differential. While the NA diff is a swap for the 240 b/c it has the same final drive ratio, the 300 diff has a lower ratio. As a result, your car will hold each gear longer and you will gain in top speed. You will, however, suffer on acceleration.
