soo i had some old tires on and decided to do a burn out and roast the tires on my sr. i dumped the clutch and got on the brakes when i went to put the car in to 2nd gear the pedal stayed on the floor i picked it up with my hand and then the pedal continued to work properly. what could this be. my master isnt leaking its full to the top and my clutch has worked properly before.???

Its not likely that anything is seriously broken, but if this Sticking to the flo' continues to happen consider you may need a new Master or Slave cylinder.

My clutch does that from time to time and has gradually gotten worse. In fact if i rest my foot on the clutch(like barely touch it) it will slowly move to the floor. but if i push hard it will engage like normal.
I have already replaced the slave so my next stop is the master and you might be in the same boat with me

i have a similar problem. my clutch falls to the floor after dumping it and cruising on the highway. i pump it by pulling it back up with my foot and it get pressure again for a little. it even goes to the floor when its just parked. it used to leak down the pedal all over the carpet so i replaced the master cylinder. now it doesnt leak fluid out anywhere but the petal keeps going soft.

If you haven't bypassed the Clutch Dampener Box, and you know your master and slave are in good condition, it may be that. Clutch Fluid = Brake Fluid and it's supposed to be changed every few years. When it decays, crap builds up in that dampener box.

If a friend will loan your their Master-Slave SS Clutch Line (the kind for auto-manual swaps that didn't come with clutch hard-lines) for testing, go that route, or purchase your own.

Also, post back if that solves your problem. Good luck.

id replace the master. it costed me a 400$ tow on my bday lol. i had the same issue you did and was driving on the highway and my pedal slowly started dying. it got to the point where i limped the bitch into autozone. bought a scissor jack and tried to bleed it. the second i popped the bleeder it sealed its fate. turned out the plunger at the and of the push rod at the master cylinder had indeed broken off. when i popped that bleeder it moved alllll the way forward and sealed. dont be like me and have to spend 400 to get the car back on your bday lol. that clutch master was only a month old too.

yes. i would love to try rev match upshifting for 130 miles in stop and go traffic. back to the OP's issue id replace the master to be safe. not sure if that zilvia special is going on but theres a auto to manual steel braided line going to 30 shipped. i like mine. 60-75 bucks and you will have master, line, and slave new and not have to worry about it.
