Came home from a year in Australia in september and have got alot done in the 3 months and more planned so though id share :)

as it sits Currently Dec2012

AUG 2012
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
So after a long year away Down under :afro: i decided to come home for a few weeks, thankfully i bribed my younger brother with packets of haribo to start it up once a month and give it the odd wash, so was in good condition when i pulled it out.

The Veilsides where looking fairly poor, so decided to polish up the lips to a mirror finish :)
Before:
http://img802.imageshack.us/img802/6668/imag0946a.jpg

Took out all the Studs, and started with 320 grit and worked up to 2500 grit wet and dry sand paper, then gave it a lashing of metal polish.

http://img805.imageshack.us/img805/3985/imag0962.jpg

Finished result, came out pritty well but its hard to tell with the rubbish camera pics,
http://img18.imageshack.us/img18/1865/imag0964.jpg

the studs had some ammount of white scum on them comming out and i was told to leave them in Coke for 24hr and it will clean them up... i guess time will tell LOL
http://img443.imageshack.us/img443/9192/imag0965e.jpg

truth be told i wasnt fully happy with how the wheels came out, the lips came out ok, but the face on the spokes where still all dull, i considered getting bronze paint and spraying the face and lip flat bronze (still undeceided on this i think it will look good), but decided agienst it, got another pack of 2500 grit paper, and spent 2 hours on each wheel doing every inch of them,

http://img337.imageshack.us/img337/4889/imag0968j.jpg
http://img18.imageshack.us/img18/1056/imag0971d.jpg
http://img717.imageshack.us/img717/327/imag0969y.jpg
http://img822.imageshack.us/img822/621/imag0970g.jpg

:afro: now thats better

so i have a high metallic silver spray paint that ill finish the center where the nut bolts are and between the spokes and it finished.

then that will still be 2 down 2 to go :)

so a few ill updates, as i plan on getting a s14 in the coming week for a project car iv been stockpiling parts for it,
so i bought a yashio factory s14 knob and gaitor, loved it so much i was hopeing it would sit on the s15, bud sadly the threads are different non the less looks sweet and will look good in a s14 :o

http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q171/ali-d1936/IMAG0973_zpse30259cd.jpg

http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q171/ali-d1936/IMAG0984_zps6452eb33.jpg

http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q171/ali-d1936/IMAG0983_zps56e2a52a.jpg

Next ordered some Yashio Factory stsmokedLED lights

http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q171/ali-d1936/Untitled_zpsa1733a58.jpg
Lights on
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q171/ali-d1936/IMAG0995_zps08947594.jpg

TBH im still undecided on them... old or new? or might get another set unsmoked??

http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q171/ali-d1936/Untitled_zpsd985d4c8.jpg

Opinions?

so then wheels i really want something with more dish, and give the arches a lil roll. missed out on a perfect set of meisters in england twice

or another option is to buy 4 new Dish Barrels for the Veilside Wheels but i dont know where to go looking to get this done?

So if nothing creeps up in the next few weeks ill be going another route,

18x10 et0 varrasteons white or royal bronze.

http://allthingsproper.files.wordpress.com/2011/02/5465980823_d785bea031_b.jpg

epic looking but not keen on them side on.

http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6056/6336673476_dcfa9d8432_o.jpg

or some humble Rota Torques 18x9.5 +20

http://dudesphotography.smugmug.com/photos/636932784_cgnrV-XL.jpg

SO for now, im waiting for a heap of stuff in the post, mirrors spoiler, and alot of interior bits,

So a little Dilemma.. i purchased This gen bride material because i was going to re-trim the centres on my lowmax's as the graduation was wearing off on me... its a little busy if you get me, but now when im weighing them up the graduation is growing on me again... i can get graduation material also, what do people reckon?

stay graduation? or go for the Black centers...
the seats. as they are with the Graduation Material
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q171/ali-d1936/IMAG1025.jpg
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q171/ali-d1936/IMAG1027.jpg

Bride Black Material
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q171/ali-d1936/IMAG1016.jpg

horrible picture but you get the idea.
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q171/ali-d1936/IMAG1024.jpg

this is what it should look like :)
http://images53.fotki.com/v1574/photos/8/899247/6763868/060-vi.jpg
http://images50.fotki.com/v399/photos/8/899247/6763868/059-vi.jpg

if i go for the black, i will be retriming

~the Fabric on the door cards
~Lowmax seat cushions
~then fabric dye the rear seats black, and retrim the centers of the back seats with the Bride materaial also.

but it is a tough one, Graduation material or black material :/ i need opions on this one...

also confirmation i have these on the way 3.5 inch lips :P should look good on the FRONTS!

http://imageshack.us/a/img441/9059/005cnq.jpg

a extra 1.5 inches so im hoping 30mm overs and camber with a nice strech will look mint :)

and nearly have the Rears sorted also
4.5's :P

Sept2012
--------------------------------------------------------------
so last week i was detaring the car with thinners (handy for removing tar)
and i wiped the passanger headlight with some thinners on the rag, after a few seconds little tiny Cracks started to appear  i ws shitting myself we all know the price of s15 lights!! so they where left like this
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q171/ali-d1936/IMAG0989.jpg

http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q171/ali-d1936/IMAG0986.jpg

http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q171/ali-d1936/IMAG0990.jpg

Looked fairly ****ed if you ask me,
so cheapest replacement i could find was E500 for a pair :afro:

so with nothing to lose (as they looked ****ed anyway) i got a lot of diffrent grade sandpapers and started to work, it started really slow, even at 340 grit by hand nothing was coming off, so bit the bullet,
60 grit on a orbetel sander  it still took 2 hours at that to get below the level of the Cracks in the plastic

TBF even at this point it was looking bleek
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q171/ali-d1936/IMAG0992.jpg
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q171/ali-d1936/IMAG0993.jpg

but started working up the Grades of sand paper, topped off with a 2hour marathon rubbing session with 2500 grit, and a rub of polish...

http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q171/ali-d1936/IMAG1030.jpg
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q171/ali-d1936/IMAG1031.jpg

http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q171/ali-d1936/IMAG1031.jpg

:afro:
will go back over it again as there are a few rough places where i missed with the higher grades. but TBH it beats paying E500 for second hand scratched lights ;)

now onto the interior :)

To say it was a stomach wrenching moment when it happened would be a understatement, those s15 lights aint cheap, found out it was N20 thinners, think its different to regular thinners

so started today at the door cards,

First take one s15 door card (pool table optional)

http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q171/ali-d1936/IMAG1034.jpg

Carefully ripped off the fabric,
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q171/ali-d1936/IMAG1035.jpg

spend hours rubbing off every last piece of foam so the adhesive has something solid to stick to. and mask off the edge.

http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q171/ali-d1936/IMAG1036.jpg

apply the adhesive to both the door and the fabric.

as soon as they touch that's it so you better have it lined up right the first time.

then carfully trim the extra off

http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q171/ali-d1936/IMAG1037.jpg

http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q171/ali-d1936/IMAG1038.jpg

one down one to go,

http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q171/ali-d1936/IMAG1040.jpg

:afro:

has anyone ever used fabric dye before? looking into it for the back seats but cant find anything,

i want something proper that wont rub off onto peoples clothes,

heck yeah. i love this. s15 spec r in white is one car i will own in the future! not that many people have veilside wheels anymore, theyd look awesome mirror polished :)

as for the interior dye, look up SEM. they might have a dye.

my old gear gaitor looked like a dog got at it at some stage, was torn allover, so with with the leftovers of the doorcards i thought id try and muster something up,

looks like i would just have enough

http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q171/ali-d1936/IMAG1041.jpg

http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q171/ali-d1936/IMAG1042.jpg

Didnt take long, but i put alot of effort into it and it paid off, red stiched to match the seats and wheel, its not just bride material sown up in a cone shape like iv seen other people do ;)

http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q171/ali-d1936/IMAG1043.jpg

Sorted the loom in the drivers wheel well Today, was always cautious of it, so i always had that extra 2 inches i could have gone lower but didn't for fear of chewing it up, so i said id tie it up so i wouldn't have to worry about it again,
this is what it looked like it was actually resting on the plastic shield,

http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q171/ali-d1936/IMAG1049.jpg

got to it just in time
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q171/ali-d1936/IMAG1050.jpg

pulled it out as much as i could to see what i had to play with
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q171/ali-d1936/IMAG1051.jpg

cut a notch out so the loom would run along the lip
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q171/ali-d1936/IMAG1052.jpg

then treated and fiberglassed around the cut metal so it was in no danger of sharp edges cutting into the loom,
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q171/ali-d1936/IMAG1053.jpg

undersealed everything while i was at it
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q171/ali-d1936/IMAG1054.jpg

and tied it up with the largest zip tyes i could find :p
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q171/ali-d1936/IMAG1055.jpg

thats how it should have been done from the factory Nissan :)

where i had cut the notch sits nice :)
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q171/ali-d1936/IMAG1056.jpg

had to run the bonnet cable under the lip as there wasnt enough slack to bring it over,
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q171/ali-d1936/IMAG1057.jpg

throwing on the wing i found out i had over done it  the wing wouldn't go back on ... so had to adjust the loom again until it would stop fowling the wing,

still its out of harms way so i gained a good bit of extra clearance.

Dropped the seats in to be retrimmed in the new Bride material Today so ill be waiting 2 weeks :p

then my new lips arrived this morning :o
wasted no time stripping two old wheels and sticking them on :)
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q171/ali-d1936/IMAG1071.jpg

turns out my old wheels where 18x9 not 18x9.5 so overall width are 18x10.5 now not too crazy up front ;)
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q171/ali-d1936/IMAG1072.jpg

old vs new
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q171/ali-d1936/IMAG1073.jpg

test fit :)
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q171/ali-d1936/IMAG1075.jpg

going to be looking for 5" or 5.5" inner barrels so ill be able to run more camber if needs be
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q171/ali-d1936/IMAG1079.jpg

http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q171/ali-d1936/IMAG1083.jpg

http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q171/ali-d1936/IMAG1076.jpg

have 30mm front overs ordered but i think ill be putting them up for sale as soon as they arrive as i will unfortunately be needing 50 mm,

was hoping to stay with only 30mm overs front and rear as i dont like the look of the 50mm overs they bulge too much and ruin the whole look of the car,

so over the next few days im going to have to decide to stick with the plan and run with the comming 4" lips for the rear, or put these on the rears and just run 3" lips up front, and squeeze them under 30mm's

ali-d1936
12-08-2012, 01:06 PM
First off got Genuine Ganador Mirrors :)
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q171/ali-d1936/IMAG1089.jpg
spryed them up and stuck them on :)
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q171/ali-d1936/IMAG1090.jpg
Delighted with them,

then Coulour choice on the wheels where wrecking my head, was going to go with gold or Bronze centers, but thinking that they may cheapen the look of the car i played it safe and went silver,

first dark silver
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q171/ali-d1936/IMAG1106.jpg

but was unhappy so back to halfords again for another shade of silver

and shating,
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q171/ali-d1936/IMAG1137.jpg
very happy :)

then polished my bolts, left them on coke for 2 days,
broke down alot of gunk off them,
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q171/ali-d1936/IMAG1135.jpg

then wire brushed them,
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q171/ali-d1936/IMAG1134.jpg

then polished the Feckers right up
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q171/ali-d1936/IMAG1136.jpg

4 hours for 80 bolts :/

so puting these two back together tomorrow and onto the next two, i will be happy to see the back of these wheels, pain in the ass :)

ali-d1936
12-08-2012, 01:07 PM
Well i can say that coke is heaps better than vinegar, seemed to have a much harder time cleaning the bolts after the vinegar than the coke,

so got some bushed fully adjusttable arms :)
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q171/ali-d1936/IMAG1171.jpg

and theyll see me rolling and they will be hating ;)

http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q171/ali-d1936/IMAG1174.jpg

even tho i will 100% be using rear over-fenders, i still want to leave the arches in good nick that if i ever decide to take them off i can go back and run with a rolled arch :) so hoping i can get the arches looking like this and leaving it tight to 30mm overs,

http://i877.photobucket.com/albums/ab340/James106/IMG_3468.jpg

i wont be able to get the turn down in the flare, but ill leave it in a way that i will be able to later on if i want.

Just sorted these out about 5 min ago :)

http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j174/jesnutz/40holeworklips18x3020.jpg

3" Lips, meaning i have chickened out putting the 10.5 up front and have decided to promote them to the rears, :ghey:

running the 3" up front means i have the little extra bit of comfort and hopefuly ill get the +30mm Front Wings i like and they will fit snug under them :)

Just bought them in the states so hopefuly Next week they will be here :)
also bought a D-max boot lid spoiler aswell :)should be here next week also :) haven't quite decided if i shall fit it or not, but its nice to have if i get the Urge ;)

ali-d1936
12-08-2012, 01:09 PM
Didnt take alot of photos through the process because it was a mad dash but
Masked up either side of the Vally so ill get a nice straight finish,
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q171/ali-d1936/IMAG1207.jpg

then Flat to the mat, take them apart, laying beads of silicone put back together torquing up bolts, laying another bead to fill the vally, get rid of all the Air pockets in the silicone before it cures, then rip off the masking tape and you get this,
have them inside nice and warm while the Silicone sets,
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q171/ali-d1936/IMAG1213.jpg

http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q171/ali-d1936/IMAG1211.jpg

http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q171/ali-d1936/IMAG1212.jpg

hopefuly its air tight :O

before i did that i Was wondering what the offsets where so finally figured out how to measure them and came up with this,

11" overall edge to edge,
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q171/ali-d1936/IMAG1197.jpg

150 From one edge to Hub face,
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q171/ali-d1936/IMAG1198.jpg

150 From center face to the outer edge,
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q171/ali-d1936/IMAG1200.jpg

Bead to bead 10.5, 150-150 = 0

So that works out at a nice 18x10.5 et0

worked out when my 3" lips arrive the fronts will be 18x10 et6

October 2012
---------------------------------------------------------------
Decided i couldnt wait any longer and went at flaring the arches
Part of me wanted to cut the inside of the arch and weld it back after, but i couldn't be arsed doing that TBH as i am going with over-fenders anyway the look of the flare wont matter,

http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q171/ali-d1936/IMAG1233.jpg
Heated the paint up and after about a hour it still seems like it just wasnt going to Flare.
so decided to kick it up a notch and got abusive with it and it finally started to come
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q171/ali-d1936/IMAG1234.jpg
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q171/ali-d1936/IMAG1237.jpg
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q171/ali-d1936/IMAG1238.jpg

kept going until it looked like the Wing was going to cave in,
then mounted the wheel up to see if i got the 30mm

http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q171/ali-d1936/IMAG1242.jpg :afro:

http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q171/ali-d1936/IMAG1244.jpg
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q171/ali-d1936/IMAG1245.jpg

not finished need to come further down the wing but gave up for tonight.

Bit of paint flaked but i expected that and its not smooth all the way but im happy with it :)

that is with the Adjustible arms set to the same legnth as the original arms so once the tyre is on the wheel ill dial the arms into place and fingures crossed the tyre tucks the flare,

ali-d1936
12-08-2012, 01:12 PM
Did the other side today, got my little brother to hold the heat gun on the arches till it was too hot to touch and keep it on them as i worked, and they came out alot better and quicker, and the paint only cracked in one little spot :)

http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q171/ali-d1936/IMG_20121022_173121.jpg
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q171/ali-d1936/IMG_20121022_173205.jpg
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q171/ali-d1936/IMG_20121022_173225.jpg

the other side, they seem symetrical enough but ill have to wait until the wheels are mounted so i can fine tune each arch.

got tyres sorted today after a bit of a muck up, decided to crack on and stick them on,

235/40/18 on 10.5
225/40/18 on 10,

now waiting on my vented front wings from epracing when they are in, but until then the rolled front wings shall do,

need to lower the rear and take out a bit of camber but couldnt be arsed today.

and im still fairly confident ill be getting rear overfenders too. :/

also is it normal for a lil air to be leaking out between the tyre and lip? i was told they usually do that for a few hours till they settle in.

he didnt use any bead sealer so will i have to let the air out of the tyres and put some bead sealer on and pump them up again?

ali-d1936

Lobbed on the bumper and lowered the rear,

before i started a better look at the arches

took it down the road and nearly destroyed the front bumper so ill have no choice but to lift up the front a bit, but before that im going to put the transport box on the John deer and pull out the margin in the middle of the road :) seems the easier solution... migh have to do the road all the way into sligo then aswell :P haha

Tracked and alligned using the ol string method :P
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q171/ali-d1936/IMAG1281.jpg

so i finally got my cushions back :) meaning i got to stick in my low max's ;)

http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q171/ali-d1936/IMG_20121115_163651.jpg

so i think next will be a double din radio some red gauges and a new steering wheel :P might fit my harnesses also and buy a camera LOL

ali-d1936
12-08-2012, 01:20 PM
so finally bit the bullet and bought some over-fenders, i need 50-60mm, but i think any 50mm overs look bulgey and shite, the only exception is the wisesquare overfenders
http://images.engineeredtoslide.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/11/IMG_1513-560x747.jpg

i like the way the lil pull around the wheel stops the whole wing being pushed out.
but you can see the problem with them that grove that comes out and goes along the bumper looks daft,

so i decided to get 30mm overs off drive n style, and cut and achieve the pulled look around the wheel myself,

waht it looked like with just the pulled fender about 5-6 deg camber :hurl: car looks broken LOL
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q171/ali-d1936/IMG_20121114_125148.jpg
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q171/ali-d1936/IMG_20121114_125138.jpg
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q171/ali-d1936/IMG_20121114_125133.jpg
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q171/ali-d1936/IMG_20121114_125031.jpg

so set the wheels to about 1 deg negative camber as opposed to the usual 5 and test fitted the wings,
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q171/ali-d1936/Untitled-8.jpg
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q171/ali-d1936/IMAG1317.jpg

took them off and started marking out for cutting

http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q171/ali-d1936/IMAG1315.jpg

trying to work out the right angle of the slope and this is the best photo i can find :/ there is going to be alot of trial and error.
http://cdn.mkimg.carview.co.jp/minkara/parts/000/002/612/659/2612659/p1.jpg?ct=b216619e1d89

then these arrived today forgot i had ordered them doubt ill fit them as the 50/50 are really growing on me now nice and simple ;) will fit them and decide then
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q171/ali-d1936/IMAG1321.jpg

also got a gizzmo boost controler and z32 AFM starting to get stuck for space in the room :)
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q171/ali-d1936/IMAG1320.jpg

----------------

dose anyone know if i can cut the overs along this line marked in pencil?
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q171/ali-d1936/IMAG1331.jpg
if i push it into place it warps around in a few diffrent places? but if i cut it and pin it down below it looks alot better.

so cut out and pulled them a extra 25mm, trying to get the angle of the slope right,
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q171/ali-d1936/IMAG1328.jpg

think ill go with this, so just get a peice of perspex now and warp it to the 3 points draw a line along it and i have my upper curve, cut that, fit brackets
and start fibreglassing :)

anyone have any tips???

--------

fiberglass set from last night, offered it up STILL ALOT OF WORK left to do!!, another few layers of fiberglass start getting down to the basic shape, but its getting there.

front before i removed the bracket
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q171/ali-d1936/IMAG1336.jpg

rear
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q171/ali-d1936/IMAG1341.jpg

fitted
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q171/ali-d1936/IMAG1338.jpg

yeh? neh?

----

est the last photos where taken i decided i didnt like the front of the drivers side pull, it was not uniform so i cut it up and did it again and it looks alot better passanger side all glassed up so now it get to the hard part cutting and sanding to achieve the correct shape, want ot use as litte filler as possible so im high building the fiberglass, grinding it with a grinder before sanding :)

ali-d1936

well ever est a ute nearly went up in flames on me in Austraila i always said id never be without a fire extinguisher on me so while in halfords i spotted one and i said fec it its only E70, not expecting it to go up in flames but its good to have if ever needs be, only after i bough it i realised its powder but sure its better than nothing lol :)
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q171/ali-d1936/IMAG1344.jpg

and finished the wings.. well the sanding side of things anyway, have given it 2 light coats of primer and going to leave it till tomorrow to finish up, now orderign rivnuts on e-bay so as soon as they arrive its go time :)
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q171/ali-d1936/IMAG1346.jpg
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q171/ali-d1936/IMAG1345.jpg

also anyone have a clue where i can get these front wings!!!!
http://i1098.photobucket.com/albums/g373/s13ryan/7FD4431B-1A0D-4D4D-B2C2-AF3E4D440648-36635-000024BCA0FC305A.jpg

i have been looking and i can only find them in Austraila at E450 delivered LOL so im not paying that, so i might just get the front 30mm wings off drive'n'style later in the week and fiberglass over and cover the vent, as i think it will look better than the vent thats there :)

Now the overfenders...

the only alternative i had was buy 50mm overs and pinch them to 65mm, but dont like the way they come out so much a the top if you get me.

i spent alot of time on them getting them just right, but now i offered them up today as i was about to belt ahead and fit them and im having second thoughts,

what to people reckon? do they look a bit ****? should i do them again but start the pull higher up the arch?

im only going to be fitting them once and get the car resprayed, so need to decided if i like them or not before i pull the trigger.

I defanatly wont fill the vents on the d-max wings, but while waiting to find them over 2 months i nearly bought other 20mm wings and fill in the vents on them as they had a diffrent design, but these showed up just in time and Im very happy With them :)

Well where do i Start, The Fun with the car was short lived..

around the end of march a weird noise started comming from the clutch or course me being me i didnt check it until it went with a Bang LOL

after alot of thinking i didnt want the hassle of bringing it to a garage and thought sure fuck it i may aswell give changing the Clutch a go myself :) bar changing a engine in a shitty golf a few years ago iv very little mechanical expeirence but im willing to learn :)

but not one to miss a oppourtunty i bought myself a Early birthday present
Exedy 3puck :)

At this stage thing where going good, but in the back of my head i couldnt figure out how the Clutch Went after only a easy 25K ???

after Digging for a month i found out what was Wrong,

when they changed the Clutch last, they used a s14 solid flywheel to replace the s15 Dual mass flywheel, this would have been ok if they fitted a 5speed gearbox,
but the spline from the 6 speed box is shorter than the 5 speed one, as a result the gearbox spline was bearly making full contact with the clutch and it had no spigot bush to rest on, so all the flex and play (and trust me there is alot of play in a sr20 box) was transfered to the Clutch disk :smash: so now i have the proper flywheel on order it will be here next week and i can get abck on the Road :)

so while im waiting i Treated myself:
Well decided id splash out and get a GTS-T break set up, im not so happy with the fronts as id like something bigger but i know that when i get the car back up and running the s-body Front calipers will be seized again so i though my as-well treat myself and save the headache of trying to free them again :)

is everything i need here for the Conversion?
https://fbcdn-sphotos-d-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/525309_564506543571711_560574115_n.jpg

this will hopefully be her last weekend like this :D

Then Today:
what started out as a change the Front breaks to the Skyline ones got a bit out of hand today

https://fbcdn-sphotos-f-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-snc6/197694_565435953478770_1081124599_n.jpg

Decided to Pull off everything and properly under seal inside the Arches, then decided to Strip the coilovers and Check everything and give them a good copper Grease again
https://fbcdn-sphotos-b-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/260023_565435980145434_834467737_n.jpg

Back to the Breaks... im Ordering Braided Lines off Driftworks... now i was told ill need GTST lines.. but the lines that came with my calipers are really Short
https://fbcdn-sphotos-d-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/198919_565435963478769_829127601_n.jpg

Compare to the S15 ones that are on the Inside of this Photo.

https://fbcdn-sphotos-g-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-frc1/401820_567609023261463_972423012_n.jpg

well spent all today fixing up all the random fiberglass bumpers i have lying around. really makes me hope that the standerd bumpers suit this and im well over this fiberglass craic for a while.

painted up the new skyline breaks and polished the lettering thanks to d-turbo-lawwwwwdddddd for the paint i seen his and really wanted that shade of red ;)

https://fbcdn-photos-h-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/s720x720/389398_571986479490384_946195408_n.jpg

met kruizer during the week and he suggeated that i fiberglass up the hole for the old looms seems alot easier than plating it or fitting and sealing grommets so 2 layres of fiberglass in and outside. paint then waxoil and its water tight ;)

before

https://fbcdn-photos-h-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/s720x720/401821_571987386156960_1538477211_n.jpg

them polished the lips on the wheels wound down the coilovers as low as possible for the craic and took her out. im going to have to remove locking collers up front to get the height i want but the back is perfect right now :)
