Blacktop ECU ID...I think.. can u help?

Hey folks I have a 89 Coupe and I am dropping a Black top into it. I got the engine trans ECU from a importer that seemed to have no idea that there is a difference in the SR20DET motors. I need to know If I got the right ECU. Does anyone know how to ID it the ECU by looks.
The ECU I got says BG where the 62 is for the P/S13 SR20DET and instead of a RED Sticker it is Pink... not magenta but Pink.

I also have a 89 coupe that I am dropping a black top into. I bought a '98 front clip and if I remember right the ecu said bg and the sticker was white. But I will check for sure when I go work on it tomorrow.

ok I took another look at my ecu and I was way off. It says E5 and it is in red on a white back ground. the other numbers on the label 23710 50f05
a18-c80 g26. Hope this helps

i've got an E5 its an early model blacktop 5 speed. 94-96 i think is the years from a 180sx.

mine is an e5 as well i also have an s13 blacktop

go to www.freshalloy.com use search for a thread called what ecu is this it may be in advanced or archive forums they covered almost all of the ecus that are out there for these cars most werer identified by SRfiveten if all else fails pm him he might be able to help you out

K im freakin confused now...do you have a S13 blacktop or S14 blacktop?!?! S13 blacktop EC wont work on a S14 blacktop for DAAAAAMn sure. Redtop ECU wont work for S13 blacktops. 94-96 blacktops have different ECUs too from 97-98 blacktops. Dunno if any of that helped since i have no clue now which Blacktop you have since we were all under the impression that you have a S13 one. :tweak:

but S13 blacktop will run redtops :p my E5 ran plan b's car. and I think theres one or two pins that will make the redtop run the S13 blacktop. I forgot

if you have a 62 ecu that is a s13 ecu it will not work with a s14 blacktop period. You need to find out if your S14 blacktop is kouki or Zenki as they each had a different ecu.
