Im looking at this Isis turbo manifold for sell on ebay and am just wondering if anyone has tried the Isis manifolds, and if so can you guys give me ur feedback on them compared to the megan, because the megan manifold lasted me a good 3 years but every where i look they are sold out till january.

and ive got the Isis 3" blast pipes that i LOVE so im wondering if the turbo manifold is just as good. Here is the link off ebay im considering buying it from.

Isis V2 Tubular Exhaust Turbo Manifold Nissan SR20DET s13 S14 | eBay (http://www.ebay.com/itm/ISIS-V2-Tubular-Exhaust-Turbo-Manifold-Nissan-SR20DET-S13-S14-/170949482943?_trksid=p2047675.m1851&_trkparms=aid%3D222002%26algo%3DSIC.FIT%26ao%3D1%2 6asc%3D163%26meid%3D3842502697320308742%26pid%3D10 0005%26prg%3D1088%26rk%3D1%26sd%3D221151729449%26)

Any positive inputs greatly appreciated thanks in advance!

My megan is still in 1 piece after 6 years. It's important to have good exhaust mounting as that will ruin any exhaust manifold. Spend some money and get some good exhaust bushings.

Anything solid. I got some locally. I mean isis, megan ect are all crap. They just look better than a rusted stock manifold but power gain is probably nothing lol.

If u keep having issue with cracking put a flex pipe into your dp

I know megan is a knockoff and all ive got that is Isis are just my blast pipes and those havnt given me any problems i actually like the way it sounds. I was going to get a Tomei manifold next year because thats all i have on my Sr is Tomei/HKS parts and the megan manifold was the only thing keeping it from being 100% non knockoff, But the megan manifold actually ended up giving up a little early and right now i dont have alot of funds since christmas is around the corner, so im mainly just looking for somthing to get me by for now

If u keep having issue with cracking put a flex pipe into your dp

Like the Powered By Max Cobra one? I was thinking of getting that one but not till next year, Once christmas is over and i get my taxes ill be getting some more stuff ^.^

Worm clamps around rubber exhaust bushings help to stop the weight strain on the manifold also. Or flex pipe. Heat and a Loose exhaust n any tubular manifold will break

even though its more expensive, buy your isis stuff from enjuku...

ken is probably the best sales person on any 240sx parts related website.

Flex pipe is what will save any manifold you put in. Heck, I've had a Mazworx manifold crack on me.

You dont have to get the PBM one, just buy a 3" flex pipe from E-bay, take your car to an exhaust shop, and have them cut your DP, then add the flex pipe. Shouldnt cost more than $100 to do.

Flexpipe is key man... buddy cracked 2 isis manifolds before putting a flex section on his dp... now that it has a flex pipe he has had 0 issues.

But your car is a trailered track-only car, where I'm assuming the OP's is a daily.

Every tubular manifold I've ever seen on a street driven SR has cracked. I used to have a Megan manifold, and it cracked. I had it professionally rewelded and added 4 gussets for support and it cracked again. Unless you're running 450HP+, then the good ol' cast stock manifold can't be beat.

also theres some on ebay that have a flex pipe already in themmy buddy had one. He paid 140$ shipped, fit fine and had the car for a year before he sold it no problems.
Also you gota look that your blast pipes don't take as much heat as the manifold, that plus the weight of the turbo and exhaust always pulling on it, if you have shitty hangers?
You know the ones that half usually break off when removing a old crusty oem unit.

isis is junk too

Thanks for someone for actually saying somthing that helps....

But he did say something that helps. We had a customer purchase the isis manifold... the turbo wouldn't bolt up right, the holes on the flange were not aligned correctly to the turbo. Plus, it looks like even more junk than the megan... The megan's a better manifold.

And yes, stress from the exhaust is what cracks a manifold. Exhaust hangars and bolting the downpipe to the transmission/tranny mount whatever is what will save that manifold. Basically minimizing the movement of the exhaust. Circuitsports has great exhaust bushings. S13 needs 3?, S14 needs 4 bushings.

i ran my stock manifold made 322rwhp on 18 pounds

ported and honed it then made 345rwhp

and it doesnt crack it just glows pretty colors

id keep the stock on,tubular manifolds crack as u heat them(hit boost) even if its just 8 pounds regardless of which manufacture even full race crack just not as soon

cast iron is the way to go never have to replace it and you can beat the piss out of it all day

just make sure you have a flex pipe after turbo elbow cause if the manifold wont crack the turbo elbow will....

Are your motor mounts bad by chance?

It wouldn't hurt to throw in a flex section and replace the motor mounts if they're old, before getting a new manifold. I would be willing to bet that crack was formed from either of those flexing.

Isis isn't top notch by any means but it should get the job done if you take the precautions to prevent it from cracking. Higher end manifolds use different metal which makes them less prone to cracking under load.

ya smoked240 has a point old motor mounts cause the motor to move around leaving the exhaust attached to the chassis that can cause cracks
.
Honestly megan and isis are the same in my book along with godspeed and cxracing i have some of all these on my car but don't recomend them for turbo's or engine internals lol

FWIW been using a CXRacing manifold, used it for over a year (have flex section in downpipe) wastegate flange broke probably due to shitty worn stock mounts. Had the manifold re-welded and braced and have not had any issues with it.

No.

Proper exhaust hangers and a flex pipe > all that other stuff.

Someone said something about having a cracked manifold professionally re-welded and I can only LOL at that statement. Any professional welder wouldn't re-weld a manifold simply because it'll crack again. If a customer is adamant about keeping a one-of-a-kind manifold that cracked, the welder should have literally cut out sections or chunks and weld in new material. A case highly unlikely with the lower quality Megan and Isis stuff.

If you keep buying shitty manifolds, you will keep replacing shitty manifolds. This is on an sr correct? What did you find disappointing about your stock manifold? Until you get to a power level where you need a crazy equal length, one off manifold, keep your stock set up. It's strong, reliable and designed to work with the motor. Cheap tubular manifolds are weak, may cause fitment issues and need replacing far more often than the piece Nissan gave you.

355whp on a stock S14 sr manifold here! I agree 100% with the shitty knockoff tubular manifolds cracking. Flex pipe helps, but it's really no comparison to the strength of a cast manifold.

You know a stock manifold that is extrude honed and ceramic coated will out perform a tubular one for most HP levels reached on our engines, right?

Also, all the flex pipes pipes out there with the flex section at the bottom don't mean shit if your car is lowered.

Fuck that. Downpipes with flexpipes already in them are like ~$100 on eBay as is. I feel like buying a downpipe on e-bay is better than getting a "legit" one. At least in my case where my car is tucking 17's and it's low as shit and scrapes everything. I'd rather go through 3 $100 downpipes, than one $300 dollar pipe.

Ran the isis for awhile until it cracked on me...Called them up directly and they replaced it for free. Solid company that stands behind there product atleast IMO. Would deal again.

I'm sure it can out perform anything if the context is right. Really depends on what your goals are and other supporting mods.

Either way, I wasn't arguing that point for the thread's consensus. If you want to save a manifold, regardless if its a $150 Ebay one, or a $1500 ballin' out of control one, having your exhaust properly mounted does wonders. I don't have a picture of my setup, but its really awesome because we (3 Mile Garage) made the downpipe as one piece from the turbo to cat and utilized the transmission mount bracket. Flex pipe was added after the transmission mount so the manifold sees no stress from weight transfer.

My complaint with the isis manifold is that when i installed it there was excess welding slag inside.. It had broken loose and was chipping at the blades on the turbo. pretty big issue IMO.
