Are you sure its p0108? That is a code for MAP sensors which 240sx dont use since they use MAF. Are you checking it with a scanner or from the ecu direct?
Theres dtc 1008 which has to do with the EVAP but really cant help you if you dont know what it actually is.
You can check the fsm yourself:

Actually OBD II cars make it EASIER to work on. It helps to troubleshoot the problem for you. You however, must know the automotive diagnostic theory to help solve the problem!!!
If you are getting a Nissan 108 Error code, (I couldn't find that specific code in my FSM...how did you get that code?? Directly off the ECU or with a diagnostic code reader...???), and you swapped out the EVAP Canister, did you also check the vacuum lines the EVAP canister are connected to?? You'll have to use the SEARCH function here on Zilvia to find a FACTORY SERVICE MANUAL, (FSM) for your model year car.
Check the FSM under Engine Control - Emissions and look for a diagram showing the routing on all the vacuum lines connected to the EVAP canister. You'll have to jack up the car and trace all the vacuum lines from the gas tank all the way to the engine compartment. You'll also have to check the vacuum lines underneath the Intake Manifold. If you have a crack or leak in ANY of those vacuum lines, that could be the cause of your Check Engine Light. The theory behind the EVAP canister is to keep gasoline emissions from escaping into the environment. See attached link for the Theory on how the EVAP system works.... http://www.aa1car.com/library/evap_system.htm.
Hope this helps....

PS: You check your gas cap?? A loose or defective gas cap could also activate your Check Engine light...

double check all vaccum hoses on manifold for leaks , the map sensor for 96 is next to fuze box on shock tower mounted to a bracket with another sensor, check that those hoses are attached correctly. or you can possibly have a bad map sensor

Factory Service Manual.
I have a 1996 and I know your pain, but OBD-II does make it easier to work on as it can tell you where to start. I've been troubleshooting codes for 3 years with this car and I'll tell you what...
For US to help YOU, we need to know whether it is a Generic DTC taken from a Scan Tool or a Nissan Specific Code taken from Consult or a Flashing CEL. Because there is a difference.
Second, If you think it's a vacuum line issue, compare your lines with the Diagram in the FSM. There is no reason for you to blindly throw parts/money at it if you have no idea what the code means.
For Crap's sake, calm down please. It's a DTC, it doesn't mean your car is undrivable unless your inspection is coming up, and even then, most garages could probably identify the problem and get you the right part, the first time.
Hell, having the garage diagnosing it, and THEN buying parts would have been better than wasting money on a part that didn't help at all...
So, start again: Generic or Nissan, Grab your FSM and get reading.

Also, that is not true. There is a MAP sensor in the OBD-II S14, for the 1996, it's located by the battery and is a square little box that looks like...

Yes you're correct but it's not used for fuel metering but for emissions.

True, but his CEL was on, and you mentioned it was a MAP code. I was simply informing that a MAP did exist and could throw a code, especially since he didn't mention any drivability issues.
Sorry if that came off like a personal attack, it wasn't meant to.

Asking for help and you still can't answer the questions the people who are trying to help you are asking.
I'm pretty sure he didn't grab it from the flashing light since 96+ ecu's afaik don't have a bulb in them. I know mine doesn't.
