ok recently my turbo messed up (turbonetics) and had to buy a new one which is a t3 garrett 60-1 715583-5006 journal bearing. I've been looking at a lot of different post all over the net and some people say to use and some say not to use an oil restricter on this turbo? I thought that journal bearing turbos didn't require a oil restricter only ball bearing. Any help would be much appreciated before I install as it is new would hate my self if I screw this up thanks.

I know it was a stupid question but I have no experience with journal bearing turbos just thought that if anyone else has had any different experiences or something they had to do different.

So I put the turbo on and let idle for a Lil with down pipe off and noticed that there's a Lil oil on exhaust housing and when I let idle and rev a Lil that it puffs little smoke? Compression check is good all the way across any explanation would be helpful thanks.

The first thing you need to check on, is the inlet on your turbo. Is it threaded, or does it require a flange. IIRC Super-60's are threaded, 1/8" NPT.
With that said, then you head over to ATP TURBO - The Premiere Provider of Turbocharging Components (http://www.atpturbo.com) and purhcase a restrictor for journal bearing turbos.
Then you'll be good to go!

exhaust/turbine side leaking oil might be your exhaust/turbine side seals leaking that or your turbo is not draining right and its going back into the turbo i might be wrong
