nah i dont know much of them all i know is what i was told by them :) which i belive is..
spring rates are 9kgm (F) and 7kgm (R), 30way adjustable (compression/rebound), pillow ball upper mounts, separate height and preload adjustment, they are rebuildable and have stuff on hand umm the coils were designed with drifting/road racing in mind and i asked if they were to compare them to something what would it be? they said keioffice XR's and price seems good to
umm and the GB was delayed to till umm tomorrow? iuno..

Thanks for the interest guys. Everything is pretty hectic bringing out the new product line. The first run was finished but the spring rates were off so we had to send them back because we're uncompromisable when it comes to the 9kg (F) and 7kg (R) rates. That set us back to a three week wait for the springs to be re-run and all the disassembly and reassembly with the new springs. Due to money constraints we could only run twenty sets to start off to see how they sell.
Honestly I've been inundated with requests so this week I'm going to go ahead and start a GB for them after I finish up all the promotional hooohah.

ryan, call me man....
Ringed you up yesterday but got your voicemail, I'll give you another call tonight.
Essentially the GB price is going to be VERY close to our cost. I'm not one of those people looking to get instantly rich or anything of that sort. I love the idea of being able to be part of the burgeoning (spelling?) drift scene as a company and being able to aid drivers by providing good parts at a good price. I would like D'Stage to grow and be able to attend the majority of shows and be able to support and sponsor drivers. Every ounce of profit is going to go directly back into the D'Stage lineup as well as setting up our drivers with as many parts as we can afford to give to them.
Unlike big names like JIC, Tein, and A'PEXi we can't afford to order hundreds of sets of coilovers to be run to keep the cost low and then mark them up like crazy. Our cost at this point in comparison is extremely high but to keep our "ideals" in line we aren't going to mark them up like crazy. The projected retail cost is going to be under a thousand dollars which means our profit margin is slim. We hope though by aiding drivers in being able to pick up quality parts at a more reasonable price that we will gain loyalty and in the end it works out for everyone and allows us to continue to develop parts.
It's been really hectic for me with the whole going deaf thing, lol. So I've been a little backed up and the GB keeps getting delayed but it will start ASAP since I'm pretty confident that all the sets we had run will be taken off our hands immediately. I'm honestly surprised and grateful for the support and interest we've gotten in D'Stage from members of Zilvia and especially Pink Godzira and Matty McQuain!
Although the coilovers have been our biggest investment we also have a number of other parts on the way as well including:
Tie Rods
Tension Rods
Full Ti Exhaust
Bushing kits
Radiators
FMIC kits
Full Carbon Bucket seats
Clutch kits
Chromoly flywheels
and of course the sway bars (long story but they are nearing the production stage. lol)

oops! haha i guess i missed it :) i just skimed through the last few couple of most :)
Will they be available in lower spring rates. Right now I'm looking to get the tein flex model with eith 5/4 or 6/5 spring rates aka bitch rates. Setting my next s14 up more for grip/daily driven street whore than drift.
Ryan of Velocity
03-25-2004, 07:39 PM
They are going to be available in 7kg (f) and 5kg (r) as well but our first run did not include those rates. After the GB starts if you want you can jump in at the GB price and I can get a few sets of the lower rate springs run and go ahead and disassemble a set and install the springs for you if those rates sound good.
Oh and the "official" name of the coilovers are D'Stage Prodigy S4. The lower rate kit will be called Prodigy S3.

dousan, you got an sr? Screw you! who will represent for stock KA's?! i guess i'll have to step up . . .
I 'm not being an asshole just curious. You guys are willing to be tests rats for a coilover that nobody has used before? what if some shit goes wrong with them. how long is the warranty? who makes the shocks? for under 1000 bucks are they going to be on par with tein or apexi in quality? companies that have been around for years and have been through a lot of trial and error
Dousan_PG
03-26-2004, 07:53 PM
i dont have SR yet (remembe,r im poor)
but i will by mid year. s14 sr of course. if all goes well
KA was fun for 2+ years. it not like i put in SR first.learned KA..beat KA..love the KA

The power comes on smooth but I don't think it's worth it and the tiny added horsepower for having to deal with the variable valve timing tuning it later on.
Dousan_PG
03-26-2004, 09:11 PM
why? most people wont make enough power to even be concerned with it.
until you drift and drive one, yo uwont understand
you try it yet RanciD or just read posts about it?

Well to my best knowledge there are some with the coilovers. I guess there would be no point in posting thier reviews if he can't sell them just yet, or else he will be ambushed with questions when he could just do it all in one thread and keep it organized.
There were like 50 people maybe more maybe less, that jumped on the D2 coilover thing, and there were bad reviews about those coilovers, turned out good from what I hear from Aceinhole on here, and a few other people.
So far it is sounding good, no point in sitting around and cushioning yourself. Someone has to be the test dummy I guess, and there will be 20 of us first time around.
okay. so you accept the test rat position. that's cool. If you trust works and i guess we have no real reason to doubt them. Someone who has driven with some high end coilovers should write a review about them sometime in the future, i'm sure you will anyways.
