Engine Degreaser on Wheels????

would it be safe to use engine degreaser on wheels. i just got some ssr meshies and their is dirt and grid in the cracks. i figure engine degreaser would do a better job on the dirt than wheel cleaner.
any suggestions?

Simple Green, fully concentrated is what I have used on DSM meshies...

by the way, my wheels were recently polished on the lip and face...so would any highly acidic wheel cleaner ruin the finish on these wheels at all?

No it is not an actual wheel cleaner but it is a degreaser, and a very powerful one at that. Yes, highly acidic wheel cleaners will eat away at your finish like that 2000 stuff in the green bottle...
