so this is what i drew up from what ive seen and heard just want to double check because ive been blowing fuses going to my battery so let me know if this is correct or if im doing something wrong thanks

Your diagram is 100% wired correctly. What gauge wire are you using? Just thinking 10 gauge or 12 gauge to the 30's and from 87's may help.

The diagram is correct. However faulty fan or relay could be blowing the fuse. Maybe fans are rated higher then 30amps (NOTE, there is operating amperage, and there is a starting amperage). Go for some slow burn fuses.

Also, no real point on running a switch. I'd just wire that up to a switched 12V so the fan will be on with the car running and turn off when you shut the car off. Its easy to forget you got your fans running and come back to a dead battery.

well i just got my isis fans about a week ago. i might have blow a relay

Sorry for bumping this thread, but what are some good sources for switched 12V?

I was planning to use the stereo wiring, but then I decided I only want the fans to run when the key is in the 'ON' position, not also in 'ACC.'

Does the cigarette lighter wiring only get power in 'ON'? Though I do not recall if I kept it when I ripped apart the harness.
Are there are any other convenient ON-only sources?

I don't recommend drawing that kind of power from your radio or cig it will melt the wires. I went straight to my battery for the 12v source if you want to run it only when the car is on your best bet is a temp switch if you want it to run when the car is on.

I ran the switch wire to the fuel pump relay. Comes on and off once you power up.

It will not run off of it, I just need the switched power for the relay.

i used ignition source for a trigger with one relay and a 30 amp fuse split to two fans grounded to chassi

im running 16gauge two relays for each fan, and 3 fuses for the fans and the switch. no problems so far

You don't have to run a relay, you just risk frying your fans. $5 relay vs. buying new fans, your call.

You use relays because buying switches that can exceed 5-10 amps gets pricey and exponentially goes up in size.

It all really depends on the amount of amperage required. If one fan draws 30 amps, and you have two them, then you need a single 60+ amp relay.

For reference, the OEM blue square 4-pronge relay in S-chassis can handle 100 amps.
