I have a MAP-ECU 1 for sale. I have a stand alone now so there is no need for it. Shoot a reasonable offer.

You cut your maf wire, and it sends out a voltage signal based on the pressure the map ecu sees (has a built in map sensor inside map ecu, that's the nipple sticking out in the pictures). They work pretty well, had one on my sr a few years ago. Think of it like a slightly more advanced SAFC (you can tune fuel with it) that converts your car from maf to map.

^ so you connect this unit to the cut maf wire ?

and then connect a vacuum souce to the back nipple ?

Yeah, you split the maf wire into two, one (straight from the ecu) goes into the map ecu, then another wire goes from the map ecu to the other side of the maf wire. And yeah then you'll run a vacuum line from the plenum into the nipple on the map ecu and voila, no more pesky maf

wait i don't understand. You cut the maf wire. Then what do you mean by split them into two?

Technically this unit replaces the MAF right? So if we cut the maf wire connector (n62), we left w/ 4 wires. We just simply spliced these four wires into this MAP unit connector right?

No, sorry for the confusion. There's only one signal wire going from the maf to ecu, it gets split in half and both get spliced into the map ecu wiring harness (orange and green wires if I remember right). The other maf wires stay in tact.

So we only use the signal wire from the maf connector? The rest just leave it alone? and then split that signal wire, one goes to orange and the other split goes to green ?

kinda like the safc right?
