I put the 18x9.5 on a digital scale last night- 19 pounds even.
these things are huge and light.
I had a bitch of a time deciding on tires (you know this if you read my thread a while back. I decided on:
Falken Azenis ST-115
225/40/18 front
245/40/18 rear
I ordered from Tires.com and they are shipping out on Monday. I can't wait to get these on. Saturday is Beaver Run Drift Riot, and Sunday my brother and I are installing these wheels along with:
Tein Type FLEX coilovers
SPL Parts T/C Rods
SPL Parts Subframe Collars
I'll post pics when everything is installed.

Word. Plus 18s are too big for S13s, at least in the front. Those will look sick on your S14 though. :coold:
Weight difference is only a few pounds (his are 18s vs. our 17s though), not that big of a deal IMO. The forged-ness is nice, but it's not like cast wheels disintegrate if you hit a pothole...
Anyway, hope you enjoy your new wheels Mike. :)

Dousan, how is the size weaksauce? Offsets, yes... but I think those sizes are perfect for our car.

i got such a good deal on these, im considering selling the 18x8.5's and getting a set of 18x10.5 +12 for the rear and using 18x9.5 +30 w/ spacer for front

my OPINION
8.5 on a 18 is not so great
i woud go 9 with a 10 offset (stock fenders)
but that would be 17s front
rears, 10 at least probably by 18 mm like a 20 or so offset
wide fenders, i'd go FUCKIN NUTS.
i want my car's wheels like these (see attached)
9.5 and 10.5 on those...but its s14..they can handle more.
mike, I LIKE YOUR PLAN!! muhahaha
mike13
03-21-2004, 05:33 PM
dousan do you know the offsets of those te37's in the pic?
Dousan_PG
03-21-2004, 05:34 PM
i can find out for you
yaeh thats on S14 too
its pimp car
i know its 9.5 and 10.5 and my friend i THINK knows the offsets on them, when i find out, ill post it for you
no spacer required. slight pulled rear fenders, stock front fenders. some good camber and TONS of suspension work on that car

the nismo sentras arent lm's. They have a much thinner spoke.

those are nice wheels man! why you guys got to hate on the guy and give him buyers remorse and shit! Now he's going to sell them in a month and buy 17x15 +1, 17x18 +3, and get 100mm fenders!
Those Nismo wheels are sweet regardless, just be weary of curbs

My opinion? The car that Dousan posted is nasty. The tires are so stretched its actually ugly. But we all have our own opinions. ;) Besides, if you actually put 10.5's on your car, you better have 300+ HP to back that shit up (in my book).

actually that car has a KA and he was drifting better then most at the track.
oh the owner is from Osaka, Japan and signal USA manager. haha..
stretched tires arent for looks AadosX. id' think you figure that out hanging out on the forum for so long, but then i though, "oh wait, its AadosX, guys is as clueless as a newborn baby. needs someone to hold his hand, wipe his ass and change his diapey." and it all made sense. now you know.

I know they aren't... keep in mind I don't drift, so massively stretched tires on my car would be ghey.

just stick and enjoy stuff that you like/have man..
i personally like your wheels and the sizes are not really that awful...
besides.. you got em for a great deal right?
with a stock KA you can feel the difference between heavy wheels and ligther wheels..
(used to have some heavy ass 17s).. yes you can drift with 18s with stock KA but the weight difference is really noticable...

keep in mind dousan makes fun of anything that isn't super tyte jdm drift cool. :) so don't take it personally
i think those rims will fit perfect on a s13. definition of flushness and good offset has gone to the extremes lately. Personally i love fat tires on phat rims =p so sweeeet. To me there is nothing more imposing that some wide ass rear tires on a RWD sports car. When you got like 295s next to some civic's 195s it just looks total ownage. Stretched tires are an aquired taste. But to each his own, i bet 90% of the people on this board would love to have those.

Nismo SE-R's run Gram lights with Nismo printed on them.

Thanks for all the comments guys...
I'm happy with the sizes, i dont need too much wheel sickness for running a KA... SR is in the planning stages so I'll actually need bigger tires in the future
I need to get my car painted/ bodywork done... bling factor is lopsided with these wheels on a car with a dent in the hood!

03-22-2004, 04:01 PM
those rims are nice...
but they are too massive for my taste. the only way i would run a rim like that is if i drove on glass pavement and lived in an area where i wouldnt have to worry about my car so much.
lucky for me, los angeles has crazy pavement and lots of theft. YAY!
for someone who doesnt want to roll fenders (etc etc), they are nice wheels. oh, i dont care for the tires though. i would have gone with s03.

agreed, wheels look good, get some pics with em on the car, 18's are a lil big for my tastes (and area roads), but still nice choice
