Gutted my interior and it took several weeks to get to the point illustrated in the pic. To help get to this point I used various sized metel scrapers, 30lbs of dry ice ($30), a hammer, Skill drill, 3 large bottles of OOPS, 409 degreaser and Por-15's Metal Ready.
After prepping the bare metel surface, I applied Por-15 Rust Preventive Paint and the results look like ass (brushed it on without removing ALL specks of dust/dirt) but, it's still rock hard. I tried to go with no carpet ala jdmrice but, now it'd be too ugly without one.
Just thought I'd share.
dam now that clean, i guess heh...are you gonna repaint the inside?
Bah.

Damn homie, you took the dash out too? That's nuts.
I plan on doing that too sometime, haven't decided if I'm going to paint it or get new carpet... I'm leaning towards carpet now though.
:bigok: for modded 240s with automatics (I'll be swapping a manual in there eventually :D)

I plan to put the carpet back in and getting a matching piece to cover where the rear seats were.
No dash because the old one was cracked and I got a perfect black one for about $30 from the local wrecker. I plan to put a new engine and 5-speed in before I put it back together.
On a side note, I now have Por-15 stained hands due to the cheap ass gloves I used:rant2:
I'll post pics tommorow of my new painted floorboard.

the dry ice is used to make the tar ice cold.. so it breaks easier.. opposed to using heat to melt it.. (making it all ewwy and messy)

wait you're not putting the seats back are you? dude, you should seriously just zip-tie like a lawn chair in there.

I brought the car on eBay (http://www.240sxforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=24600) with a shitty knocking motor and tranny but, I intended on a swap. I'm in GA and the Rhino shop is within walking distance. I also heard Line-X is good stuff too.
I only cut the carpet underneath where radio is supposed to be.

leave it bare. What's the point of taking all the sound deadening out, then lining it again? I thought stripping the car was for weight reduction?

It was for weight reduction and I was curious if there were any rust spots or repairs. No rust was found but I did find a hole the size of a quarter that looked like the car fell on a spike or some sh*t. I repaired that and Por-15'd the inner frame thats covered by the front fenders.
Tommorow I will weld a few holes underneath the car on the frame.
If your gonna build a project car, do it right :D
