I'm planning on getting front & rear sway bars for my '89 fastback, but I'm not sure which to get Cusco or Whiteline. I've only heard good things about the Whitelines, but I haven't been able to find reviews of the Cusco bars.

Has anyone used the Cusco sway bars? If so, are they adjustable and worth the extra money?

The Cusco bars cost almost twice as much as the Whitelines..... and I can't imagine them being that much better. It all depends on what you want I guess, the name is probably the extra cost.

If the cusco bars are carbon fiber or something like that to make them better than the whiteline then I could see going for those. But the whiteline are adjustable (dono if cusco is or not) and I don't really care whether they weigh 5lbs or 10 so I'm going for whitelines.

I don't know the huge hype about adjustable sway bars...Seriously think about how many times your probably going to adjust them? Once...I got the Suspension Technique Sways from Stillen. 240 bucks shipped from a contact I know there. 1-800-576-2833 Ext. 138, ask for Adam Hume.

As for the Whiteline sways you can get them through Don Nimi at www.pdm-racing.com

Which is cheaper, whiteline or Suspension Tech?

From everything I've seen ST's have always been cheaper. Cheapest I've seen Whitelines for the pair is from PDM Racing for right around 270ish IIRC.

I wonder how you could make a swaybar out of carbon fiber... LoL... that's like Carbon fiber springs

Well, www.PDM-racing.com is down so I can't verify it, but I thought they sold the bars for $250.

they are up now, whiteline anti-sway bars are 125 each + s&h. BTW, i've never seen carbon fiber anti-sway bars but they make carbon fiber stb's so I figure why not sway bars too?

Whitelines come in more than one size.
("White castle fries only come in one size." -Beastie Boys)
Whitelines (acutally shelbys) sway bars come in a standard size, and a larger diameter. They also have adjustable and non adjustable bars for the front and rear.
This site sells whiteline bars and kits, I'm not saying their prices are the best, but you get some more info on what they offer: http://www.mofugas.com/main/default.asp

I KNOW there are carbon fiber STB's. I was pretty close to ordering a set. I DON'T think there are carbon fiber swaybars. I'm also wondering if you know what swaybars are supposed to do. In such a case, I'll explain quickly:
swaybars tie the suspension control arms together to control body roll through cornering. their purpose is to keep the car level, however, they are a part of the moving suspension. much like springs, they're designed to flex (and like springs, as you go up in performance, you get less flex out of the bar). note that carbon fiber is not designed to flex. neither are STB's. if you were to flex carbon fiber daily and under high loads, it would snap.
Like I said, do they make carbon fiber springs???

Edit I don't think I was simple enough. To stop confusion: SWAYBARS ARE NOT STRUT TOWER BARS. sheesh.

I'm fully aware of where they connect and what they do, however I didn't realize that the bar itself was made to flex (the term "sway" bars wasn't clue enough ), thanks for the info. Haveing never taken a look at my stock ones, I thought they only moved at the bushings where they actually connect.
