agreed... why are you gonna go with +40 offset?

and why 7.5? go 8 and 9 if you must stagger +25 and belowboth ends if your worried about rubbing.
check this link and figure out a decent offset. dont ruin a set of gramlights with honda offsets

did you all not catch that i have 4 lug? its hard to find what ya'll get in 4 lug. plus im not all up on the wheel being flush and having streched tires, i like a flush tire that rolls out off of the lip, some big meats:)

dude you can afford gramlights but not a 5 lug conversion? my suggestion is take the money for the GLs go 5 lug and find some SE S14 wheels before buying nice wheels. you dont have to stretch the tires. I gave you conservative offsets so you can still put decent width tires on. but if your dead set spend a little extra. volk does custom offsets. but the wait might kill you

Why are you sho shocked that he can afford GramLights? The 57c are pretty cheap, as good rims go, under a grand a set.

ok say they cost him 800... thats MORE than enough for a 5 lug conversion and a set of used cheap wheels to hold him till he gets his money back up. THATs all im sayin.

You can get 4 lug in the Gram Lights. Just get 8" 25-30et up front, 9" in the back no higher than 35et. Just my opinion though...

Brian, I am planning on getting the same rims widths/offsets you are. According to the offset calculator with a 17x7 +42 (thats what I have now.)
The clearance from stut housing to the inside of the wheel will be 17mm LESS
The outside edge of the wheel will EXTEND an extra 21mm
I am getting these offsets so I can put the 275/40/17 drag radials that I have back there. PLus 17x7.5 +30 will clear my z brakes.

why is it that everytime you tell someone what you wanna get on this site and you wanna make sure its gonna clear some suspension components that everyone just..........DOESNT GIVE YOU AN ANSWER. I mean really, all i asked is if a 17x8 +40 will clear rear coilovers i didnt ask if someone wanted to tell me what to get. Im in the same boat as killjoy, im gonna put some meats back there. This forum needs to be better about answering the persons actual question instead of going off and telling them there completely in the wrong and they should just do this.

fine yes they'll freaking clear thats why I gave you the calculater so you could FIND OUT FOR YOURSELF. I disagree with your choice but i DID answer your question and gave you an alternate suggestion that *I* think in the long run you'll be happier with. It's still your car your money and your free to take my suggestions and burn them in effigy, i dont really give a chit.

sorry man, i didnt mean for it to some out it just seems so often enough that my question really is never answered, so i get pretty tense, but thanks for answering. this is an everday ride, i dont need camber eating at my tires, and all that. but sorry for the massive rant.

no problem. and camber dosent eat your tires :p like i said the offsets I gave were still pretty conservative. no where near flush. that would be 17x9 with +15 :D thats when you need to run camber.
2 years ago when I bought my car I just ordered whatever would fit and got pizza cutter 17x7s with a 40 something offset. as I learned more and saw different setups I regretted and hated my choice. your wheel choice really will make or break the looks of your car in the end no matter what you want out of the car. do it once and do it right. you said for now you were stuck with 4 lugs. that says to me that eventually you want 5 lugs, hence my suggestions. just stuff to think about :) regardless we want pics when you do whatever you decide on

i do want them bad, but i just dont think its gonna happen plus we cant get anything that would have fitment issues, what ever we get has to fit right without massive camber adjustments, or rolling etc. but one day when i have something else a for an everyday driver and this s13 is parked and getting rebuilt i say bring on the 18x9 and 18x10 ssrs:) but without a streched tire of course, im all about getting as much tire as i can under the car, i gre up around euros and learned to love big meats for footwork:)
