Hey, what would you guys do? Swap a SR into a '93 convertible 146k, or into a '91 coupe 71k? Both need engine work, head work on convertible, head gasket on the other. I got quote for $550 for head work, and $350 for gasket alone.

I will not likely drift, but I just want some decent power.
My issues: smog (need to pass inspection), resale value, etc.

I am also considering turbo'ing one of the KA's (after they've been fixed!).

The '91 with 71k mile head gasket case (sorry, could not help that!) does not have any white stuff in dipstick or under oil cap, nor oil in coolant.

The '93 146k probably does need a rebuild at that mileage anyhow.

So what do you guys think?

Convertible = auto tranny, blah.

the only thing i would do to a convertible is put in a roll cage and leave everything else stock

Yeah, auto tranny sucks. If I do the SR, it's 5 speed all they way.

Keeping the convertible stock has it merits... they might be worth something in a few more years! You can hardly find one under $4k, unless someone knows otherwise...

I thought about that too.. but they actually make roll cages for the 240? sorry, love the car, but I'm still learning :)
