I've got an '89 SOHC and we just replaced the engine with one with about 110k. We didn't ay any attention to the belts and now we have no idea how the belts go on. Can anyone tell me what belts goes aournd what? (like one belt goes around alternator to fan or whatever) or maybe even a picture would be best. THanks guys, i really appreciate it!

thanks for the help anyways, but i actually have a chilltons manual and it doesn't have it in there. I even went to the nissan dealership and some local shops around here and NONE of them said they could help me. Can someone PLEASE help me? This is the only thing keeping my 240 from running!!!!! AH!

First is the alternator/crank belt, then the Air conditioner compressor/idler pulley/crank, and lastly the waterpump/power steering/crank belt...in that order.

The alternator has an adjusting bolt to slide down for slack. The next level is the idler pulley as the adjuster bolt. Once you adjust from behind the pulley, you may need to untighten the pulley's actual nut and it will slide free. The last is the waterpump pulley's adjuster bolt, it is self explanatory.

The tensioning points are in the chilton's manual, follow the instructions on the Drive belts -240SX with the KA24DE engine caption (they are basically laid out the same) and you will be good. Let me know if you need more help...:)

Additionally, it would be very easy with the radiator shroud, intake plumbing, and hoses out of the way.
