that was prokit with GAB shocks. It felt really nice on the streets and was competent when driven hard. Served me well for 2 years. However, somewhere down the line my front shocks blew out, we found out when we took the shocks out. I don't know when, but i'm guessing it was around 3-4 months ago. :rolleyes:

holy wheel gap batman! haha, i call this the calm before the storm. I reverted back to stock for a couple of days. thanks to Grant. You know what, you don't realize how great the stock 240 suspension is until you have it on the second time around. Nice ride, can go like 90 without feeling any bumps on the road. So comfy it puts me to sleep. Corners well but noticable body roll.

Apexi N1 pro's. I've heard how awesome they were on the streets, but i couldn't imagine. 9k/7k springs (i called them up with part #'s to confirm this) and it feels like i was back on prokits again. Smooth ride but not bouncy like prokits. Even full stiff wasn't that bad. The only problem is getting used to the much shorter travel, wheels lift off the ground easier. Thats great for working on cars, but not on the street, hitting a bump while turning = baaaaad.

i didn't slam my car, because without fender rolling the 255 series tires in the rear doesn't look like it'll drop anymore. I'll probably lower the front 1/2 inch more as soon as i find my friggen adjustment tool. Also, my car is currently at max negative camber on the camber plate, either my car has messed up possitive camber or it just doens't show very well.

anyway, i can't wait to take this to the track and drive it hard.

you're right. besides myself i have seen a grand total of 4 other S14's in my lifetime. as for pics/vids i only have a 56k at home. however that pic is crazy... it looks like his front wheel is about 1mm from rubbing on the frame.

yes, i've seen some loooooow ass s14s, and the 18" TE37 was nuts. i'm poor, so i can't afford 18s yet, let alone not care about scraping nice TE37s. Some day, some day...

well, actually ride quality does not depend purely on the springs, but on the valving of the dampers. 9/7 on apexi will feel different than on flex or JIC or kei's office. Apexi have been known to be very smooth on the streets. Half the reason why i really wanted to get my hands on N1 pros.

with that said, i think most coilovers are livable, some are better than shocks and springs because the dampening is matched to the spring rate and its built as a system. Well, most of them anyway. If you're concerned about ride quality, the best thing to do is talk to people with that suspension set up already or better yet, ask for a ride.
