It's ok man, I don't know anyone on this forum so I don't see why there would be an issue.

This is a restoration, so a lot of care and detail went into it. Just a few more things would complete it more or less.

Thank you.

No disrespect man, but I don't feel ok with you posting your for sale link in my thread, I would kindly ask you to remove it.

Do you have a dyno sheet for proof or power output? Are you even running a programmable ECU? To me it just looks like a stock-ish sr5, running a stock silvertop with MSD ignition and velocity stacks. We are not running a similar setup at all.

Good luck with your sale though.

hahaha i dont see many people hating on this car, because the 10k price tag is justified with quality parts and a clean build to back it up. its not a stock sr5 with 20V swap and XXRs claiming to be a track beast haha. good luck with the sale this car has a lot of attention to detail and is very solid

Thank you sir.

Hey nickgbmx, I recognize your username, didn't we cross paths a while back? If I do recall correctly, I purchased the CF headlamp covers that are on my car now from you. You gave me a good deal on them. Haha small world, eh? Hope all is well.

Ok, I'd like to keep this thread light with comments not pertaining to a sale if possible. Please feel free to IM with off topic questions, thank you. :)

Glws man seen you building this on club4ag for years, 10,500 might be alil high for not having front bumper brackets.

Thanks good sir, though I don't think lack of front brackets justifies a few thousand dollars price drop if that's what you're getting at. ;)

Exucse me, but who are you?
To accuse someone of anything you need proof, otherwise it is called a lie.

I've been told it was original paint by the previous owner. If it is not offered, and indeed was repainted, this may be a detail fumbled along as somethings are when purchased. Either way, paint is in great shape and the entire car is white as you can see. No harm no foul.

There is no problem with the VIN, nor risk of anything. Why would I have displayed a VIN I was uncertain about? Records will prove ownership for the past year and a half, as well as the previous owner I purchased the car from.

I've daily driven this car everyday since I've had it. Even taken it to a station to review a fix-it ticket for lack of front plate. This car has no issues, tickets, or anything of the sort. But I guess there's a reason your abuse needs to to be done under an anonymous profile name, right?

I've informed a moderator of your flamboyant accusation, as they are not accepted. You yourself risk being banned if not by username, by IP address as well.
This is not a discussions thread and buyers should either ask direct questions or send me an IM.

As far as the price, comments are your own and you are entitled to them. Just not in my thread. Sorry you cannot afford it, but the car is worth more than that. Thanks for the free bump.

i am just making sure that any potential buyer is informed

Club4AG Forum Topics: 1986 Toyota Corolla SR-5, "The All-Original, Diamond in the Rough" (http://forums.club4ag.com/zerothread?id=89459)

you started your build thread saying its a SR5 and now somehow now its a GT-S, then you edit/erase your comments and when people start asking the some questions about the VIN on C4AG you say its sold

post a pic of the VIN on the fire wall

karate_crimson
11-26-2012, 03:49 AM
Trolol. I removed ALL of the info on all of my previously owned vehicles, not just this one because I am getting out of the game and feel posting everything online about your life is useless. And BECAUSE of people like you who have crossed the line into internet stalking (I might add), I can see I was right for doing so. Mind you this is not my first AE86, and the thread you are referring to referenced two of the three AE86s I've owned in one build thread. It would be wise to make sure you have all facts straight and present before making a comment. Though I'm sure this will be one of your last posts due to being reported to the moderators.

The car did "sell" on eBay, but the buyer turned out to be a 20 year old guy with no money to actually pay for the car. I gave him a stern talking to and then cancelled the transaction. Like you it seems he also had no money. Either of which is not your concern, but since you seemed anxious to know..

I have no interest in providing you with anything more, since you are clearly not interested in buying. A buyer can take a look at anything on the car they would like, in person. Though I don't min sharing a photo of VIN, and all documents via video conference, because I like to deal with people in person, which I have done before for a potential buyer.

Thank you. :)

How come you got called out over on club4ag for your GTS being a VIN swapped SR5 and won't answer any questions or respond to anyone and have the car listed as sold still but respond promptly and still have a running ad over here. And nobody is gonna be banned over here for asking questions so snitch to the mods all you want

karate_crimson
11-26-2012, 11:24 AM
Hello,
To answer your question quite simply, there is more genuine interest here. It seems to be just you and a few other misinformed folks have been trying the same antics there so why respond? I'm answering your questions now aren't I? Again, no issues with VIN you are accusing me of, you and your friends have been somehow misinformed.

The anonymous 'PirateShuffle' I now know is synonymous with another user on Club4ag who has been cited time and time again on that forum for trolling others with illegitimate facts similar to this. So I am not surprised. And yes that will get you banned.

There is not problem with asking questions, I've welcomed questions, but you will be cited for false accusation, which this clearly is. I've answered the prior question from before, but to still persist as you are doing now, that's when you're crossing a line. As I said before any real buyer, truly interested in this vehicle can see all the documentation he/she wants. VIN on firewall, paperwork, insurance, etc etc. in person. Simple as that. It would have been wise not to believe everything you hear.

Good morning bump!

Dude a lot of ppl look up to you
But by your answers your making a fool of yourself
And losing alot of respect
Weither it's a GTS or sr5
It's still worth money
Just simple put prices by each part and add up the total
To show its value
Sr5 shells are like 500+
GTS shells are like 1k
Not much difference

Just tell everyone what the DMV did for you
But by your build threads it's pretty obvious
I mean I read the whole thread b4 u got put on blast
And iirc ur April fools sale thread u stated sr5 conv

But like I said Weither GTS or sr5 it's still original
It's still clean

I agree with you, I could post a parts list and perhaps now I should.
If you all need to see, I had TWO ae86s in that build thread. If you read the build, you did not understand what was happening.

DMV did nothing for me. What can they even do??
I have all legal documentation and parts that proves this is a GT-S.

I do not want to have to post anymore information about this car, but if I need to posts dash and title info to silcence certain people, I surely will.

Photos from just a moment ago.

Registration card is folded to protect sensitive information. I would have also called a VIN # sensitive info, but since a few must see it. I've blurred my license plate number, because it is unnecessary to the photo.

"JTAE88" The beginning of a GT-S VIN #

http://i46.tinypic.com/2370av.jpg

That ends all accusations about this vehicle's VIN information. All persistent comments to this matter will not be entertained and will be reported.

Now as for the parts price list IIRC:

OP, I believe a window VIN might be more helpful as it seems to be harder to tamper with.

From what I know, if the last two numbers are 86 it's an SR5
If the last two numbers are 88 It's an GTS.

You have the title as an SR5 but Chassis as an GTS?

I don't see how mismatching VIN numbers is even legal to begin with. GTS's shells go for more money in most cases, however some people do like SR5's because they do seem to have a smaller chance of being abused. But if you aren't interested in this car, I don't see why you should call someone out. If you are a serious buyer, you will do your own research. The seller has the right to declare his price and sell for whatever he wants to sell it for. It's not easy parting with a car that you have put hard worked cash into. GLWS OP. These cars get all kinds of attention on the street.

I hear you, I'll get a photo up of that as well. FYI on these older cars, there isn't one on the windshield like newer cars have. Instead it's on the dashboard. I did exchange my original dashboard for a rarer one with much less damage (cracks) it, so I did have to transfer the VIN from dash to dash, which was difficult for someone like myself and almost butchered it. But it is still available to be seen.

Also, I did some research and it seems there is one on the door? I saw it and took a photo of that as well. Tough to make out but the number matches the firewall. JT2AE88xxxxx

http://i46.tinypic.com/29xytqq.jpg

Also as for the bit about the last two numbers, if I may add a correction:
The VIN needs to have JT2AE88xxxxxx in the beginning sequence as GT-S. The SR5 has JT2AE86xxxxxx. Hopefully that clears things up.

Thanks for the words about the car. A lot of work went into it and no it is not easy to part with. I don't think I'll have time to build a car like this again.

So tell me, was the engine bay resprayed white as well? GTS never ever came in white. Paint looks original to me. Also what do you mean you removed the vin tag from the dash? The vin tag isnt attached to the dash. It is attached to the cowl top panel. You would have to drill out the rivets to remove that tag. I know, I have owned AE86s for over ten years and remember when you joined club4ag. Also in your build thread for this car, why did you delete all your post from it a few days ago? Club4AG Forum Topics: 1986 Toyota Corolla SR-5, "The All-Original, Diamond in the Rough" (http://forums.club4ag.com/zerothread?id=89459) I read your entire thread and i specifically remember you buying a kouki 1986 SR5 that you specifically were trying to convert to a Zenki model. I also remember you owning an 85 GTS that you rolled over in the canyons a few years ago. I highly recommend anyone that is interested in this car do some homework.

Right car at the wrong time.

Someone is going to get a good deal.

You're telling me!

So tell me

Again, incorrect information. You're basing your info on the build thread. I've stated that I have removed all of my information not just from auto forums, but in general as it's useless to share everything about oneself on the internet. I'm not out to showoff nor become a forum celebrity, it might have been cool in high school, but now it seems useless to me. I'm moving on, cleaning out. And that is completely my choice. I had no reason to run it buy anyone.

Not sure if they come in white, but upon inspection it seems the car has been re-painted.

Yes, I obviously meant cowl. Which is above the dash. I had the dash and cowl swapped out as previously mentioned.

If you want to go further into the past, I also crashed an SR5 even more years back. What does it matter to this situation? There is no way a VIN could have been swapped. It makes no sense. Lastly, is it possible to own more cars than one posts on a forum build thread? i don't have to share every car I've owned with an online forum. You've all been assuming and accusing, without any hard evidence since the get go and it's leaving you running in circles.

How do you disprove what is right in front of you?

I've posted all the information I can. Believe it or not, the choice is yours. But the evidence is clearly there.
And the car is still for sale.

You think its useless to share everything about yourself? You didnt believe that until as recently as the 23rd of this month when you deleted everything off your thread. Why the sudden change of heart? You were very proud of this car.

Yes, I obviously meant cowl. Which is above the dash. I had the dash and cowl swapped out.

Cowl is welded to the car. You removed the cowl from a car and welded it back on to this one?

If you want to go further, I also crashed an SR5 even more years back. What does it matter to this situation? There is no way a VIN could have been swapped. It makes no sense. Well if you hadn't deleted everything in your build thread, I could have pointed out to the various times you mentioned this being your one and only corolla. Well hey man, Im just pointing the obvious out and you have yet to really answer anyones legitimate questions. Again, GTS never came in white. Pull the carpet a bit and show everyone the original paint. I will more than happily apologize to you and call myself an asshat if you do that. Takes 5 minutes to pull a portion of the carpet.

For those of you lucky enough to not be a complete 86 loser like myself, here is a little tidbit.

In the picture above the car has a small holes drilled on the outside and bottom of each license plate lamp. This body modification is specific to 1986-1987 Kouki Corolla models. 1984-1985 Zenki models did not have those holes because this did not use the bigger taillamp center piece that kouki models had. You can even see the dirt stain the original lamps left. So did you drill those holes there for kicks too?

Here is a real zenki rear. No holes near license plate lamps.

I didn't mention anything. At one time I had several in my driveway.

The entire body is painted, but I can see chipping where it wasn't done so well. Hence the surface rust and minor bubbling around the gas tank. I can provide a photo of the carpet pulled back but what is that going to prove?

I've shown all I can and will not entertain this witch hunt. You can make many moves to find any flaw in any car to prove a point that is invalid. Again, not going to entertain it. Previous owners could have done may things you are suggesting. Accident repair, etc etc.

Do you not remember I had Zenki shaved tailights and a rear kouki center when I bought the car. I had to shave them to fit these. Who knows what the previous owner had done to make this work.

I've even sold a complete rear panel to a guy in Florida to repair his vehicle. So I assume when he tries to sell his car he will be questioned in the same way for having a issues with the body panel?

I am done with you guys, moderators have been informed, I've shares all information about the car and I will not answer anymore towards the witch hunters.

All further interest can PM me.

After doing some online research and looking at some old photos i saved from your build thread I could see why you did this.

your 87 SR5 shell has about $600 in back fees since 2007, so you use your vehicle information from your crashed 85 GTS for the cost of a few rivets

if anything MODS should ban you for trying to conduct illegal business on their forums

This car would have been sold so quick if it was on the east coast. Good luck with the sale OP

The original white color on your ae86 is in excellent shape. Thus, it's differently a SR5 and NOT GTS. ALL original GTS (4AGE) were never painted in color white for the USA market, except for the SR5 (4AC). Thus, the tags were swap from a GTS (AE88) for your SR5 (AE86). Shamefully, this is a NO NO.

If your ae86 was authentically an original GTS, or if this build had an accurate description build of a "SR5 w/ 20V 4AGE swap" then you wouldn't have be so many club4ag members all over you trying to discredit this sale, or you. We want to protect our community, especially prospects who don't know much about the AE86.

Can I just chime in and beat a dead horse real quick? I don't see how you guys missed it, but the rivets holding his VIN tags on are the farthest thing from factory, they have clearly been drilled out and replaced with your generic run of the mill rivets.

Left picture is of his ad currently running/Right picture is from built thread on C4AG. **the stamp on the right from his build thread matches the vin numbers on Ebay and the pictures he posted

According to this here Club4AG Forum Topics: Buyers Guide To Identify Possible Stolen Car..Must READ! (http://forums.club4ag.com/zerothread?id=46452)

You can swap vin numbers all you want but what you cant change is the stamp on the firewall

deny all you want but proof is in the pictures and youre build threads
Club4AG Forum Topics: UJ's 1984 Toyota Corolla GT-SR5 (http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:AKyWfMn9LQcJ:forums.club4ag.com/zerothread%3Fid%3D44216%26page%3D7+forums.club4ag. com/zerothread%3Fid%3D44216%26page%3D7&cd=1&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=us)

edit: oops. AE86 chassis all are stamped AE86 where you had circled in yellow, ploop. but the last 7 #'s should match the last 7 numbers on the VIN that's riveted. (the VIN is where you determine true GTS or SR5, GTS=AE88 and SR5=AE86 in the VIN# that's riveted, and under the windshield at the dash.)

As stated in the ebay post (http://i.imgur.com/kYaCd.png), the VIN is: JT2AE88C0F0130686
and last 7 digits of the chassis as recognized by ploop, it's 0234083. not a match./edit

I've also been following UJ's build (Karate_Crimson) on club4ag for a while and definitely remember this thing starting its life as an SR5. unfortunately the build page was 404'd.

this is pretty damn illegal if the vins were swapped.
V C Section 10752 Fraudulent Acquisition or Disposition of Vehicle Identification Number Penalty (http://www.dmv.ca.gov/pubs/vctop/d04/vc10752.htm)

shame shame shame, for posting this as a GTS. GTSR5 is understandable, but as a GTS is some shady stuff.

Hopefully this is just a misunderstanding.

I can vouch for this car also being a sr5 and I've been in the corolla scene from when OP first joined club4ag. Car is actually a 1986 or 1987 sr5 originally which he swapped from his flipped gts hatch. Vin is not connected to the dash board in these cars, its riveted onto the cowl which would need to be cut out as others stated or rivets drilled out with the windshield removed. Best option for OP would be to swap back vins and stop BSing everyone trying to get more money so he doesnt get sued for fraud (by the next owner), fined by the state, and possibly imprisoned.

Sad to see someone who went from being a disrespected fan boy to someone who redeemed himself (in my eyes) over the years but only to turn out as a SCAMMER.
