View Full Version : What is this used for?

I was looking around in my engine bay and spotted this and it wasn't connected to anything. What is it used for? It seems like a lot of people misunderstood me. I am referring to the wire being held up by my index and middle fingers; not the intake tube below my fingers.

Is it coming out of the intake? Maybe emission bullshit?

Emissions crap

Do you know where exactly it plugs into or what purpose it serves? I have the rest of my emissions equipment so i'd like to place this back in its correct spot.

has something to do with emissions as well as air ratio bs. it's before your MAF?

connects to the carbon canister I believe. Is this also connecting to your exhaust?

It's an everyday car. I don't feel the need to delete all of the emissions related parts. It's already in place and I just want to reconnect it to the proper location.

I'll take a better look and find out.

It looks like it is a ground wire if I am not mistaken.

If I am not mistaken, that wire seems to be a ground wire. Do you know where it plugs into? It looks like the type of plug that slides into the grounding point like the one pictured below.

Looks like the ground that plugs into the tab under the coil.

I'm sure that's what it is as well. I'll take a second look because I couldn't find any tabs at first glance. Thanks for the help!

Haha I thought you were talking about that hose too. Definitely a ground.

Here you go... I took a picture of mine with it unhooked.

If you are missing this tab than you will need to create your own grounding connection here.

Thanks for the picture. It seems like my grounding tab was bolted to the top screw rather than the bottom screw. I didn't notice any difference but, i'm sure it belongs there regardless.

Its to warm up your cat faster, it goes into that canister which than runs into your downpipe. Totally useless in Cali, but its required anyways, this state is retarded.
Edit, its supposed to be connected to your intake pipe.
