Heh, this has been asked before. It doesn't really matter. I think in Japan it's pronounced TAIN, but here in the U.S. I actually called about 5 times, every time they answered TEEN. Maybe with a little bit of I in there, but def. not noticable, so like TEA'N (if that makes sense).

i pronounce it 'kuh-rap'
:D
incorrect
btw its supposed to be pronounced like TAIN, but not emphasizing the TAI part as much. Its almost as if it were 2 sylobols, with the second one emphasized, but not quite.

Damn, now I'm confused. I've always pronounced Tein like Tayne, but once I started going to meets and stuff everybody I talked to says it like Tea'Inn, so I started saying that instead...
I think my main problem is that I'm white and therefore don't think my pronounciation of Japanese brand names is ever correct, so I just listen to everybody else.
No more! From now on I call it Tayne, bishes!! :rl:

maybe a problem solver would be to not buy Teins. just buy something like HKS. can't get that one wrong!

That's why the rest of my suspension stuff is going to be from SPL Parts, acronyms are impossible to mispronounce. :)
It's pronounced like this ---> Tein. what's the problem

just ask someone who's french how it's pronounced. Tein is the french word for handling or grip I believe.

I've been thinking that it should be "tay-in", as it's short for "Technical Innovation",which I guess would be "TEkunikaru INobashon"
I heard non fujita say tayne when I stoped by his shop to check out what he has available. I used to say tea in, but since he is japanese I'm guessing tayne is the correct way to pronounce it.

in japan the vowels are:
a = 'ah'
e = 'ay' (like our long A)
i = 'ee' (like our long E)
o = same, long O sound
u = 'ew'
so a Japanese person would say TayEen which may or may not be equal to 'tayne'.

nay my friend. every single japanese person i asked says you pronounce it, tain, rhymes with pain, maybe with a slight wierdness in the middle, but definitely not tey-eeen

tey-eeen = tayne/tain/pain to me with japanese vowel sounds...I don't think we are disagreeing on that.
