Import Fan 240sx skyline conversion

Import Fan is working on a r32 skyline conversion front end...... :tweak:

Test Fit Results: This front end is for a skyline, but with the conversion kit we are working on for the 240SX , you will be able to mount skyline R32 GT-R bumpers and R32 GT-R hoods to the 89-94 240sx, we are prototyping the conversion fenders that allow this as well as the hardware to support the lights. We used wide fender to make this kit since the R32 is sooo wide, also the front hangs extremly low, more pics to come....

Some Skyline stuff is cool to have on your 240, but IMO the front end is not one of them.

ok thats just fugly!! what are they thinking? R32 tails on a coupe with a nice aftermarket silvia front looks good but what they did just looks all wrong. It would have been better if it had been done on a S14, the proportions would have looked more correct.

I hate to say this, but the R32 sheetmetal (hood fenders and bumper) all bolts on to the S13 if you just redrill the holes. Its been done before.
And the stock shit looks better than that. if you match it up with a rear widebody fender kit it looks pretty good.

thats a JDM car with Tein suspension, so you really cant complain about it being a "stock KA" car.

Im no longer employeed there, but it doesnt look too bad for me, problem I see is that there aint gonna be nooooooo sideskirts ever to match that width. Besides, an s13 on coilovers lowered already has a hard time daily driving over bumps etc, this front end on a coilover equiped s13 for daily driving wont last too long. You guys can complain about poor quality, question is, who else is going to make a readily availible R32 conversion? My opinion is that its usually newbes and broke people always want to fix up the cheapest s13 they can get, usually 89-90 models and stock engines/suspensions.

fuck GTP/Importfan... ...I was the first person to order the s15 for s13 conversion from them... the excuse for takin almost a year to get my whole kit "we're making a mold of your kit..." :wackit: FUCKERS! the pieces that they made fit like complete shit... the fenders were completely unusable(trash can they went), rear bumper was junk (sold it on ebay and bought genuine Bomex), and the side skirts needed a lot of work.. The hood and front bumper(drift) were made by some body else and are accually pretty good quality...

...I work in a custom shop and other kits i've seen from gtp are just as crappy... ...if it's blue, from them ..throw it away

I really see no problem with the kit. Take a look in any Japanese car magazine and seeing off the wall conversions like this are pretty common. It's simply another Japanese trend that has finally hit the states. Its diffrent. Would I do it on my own car? Prolly not but it's definetly out of the oridary.

I was looking into doing the R32 front end on my coupe, but I just think the bodylines don't match up that well. I agree that with wide rear fenders it might look better, but who knows, I would rather do a Silvia conversion :)

-USING OEM R32 Fenders + Hood + Bumper-
We tried this, the bodylines were way off and there was a huge gap between the fenders and the door, also where it curves around the windshield and meets the hood. You can use the R32 GT-R hood , you must drill out the lower hole of the S13 hood hinges so you can use oem R32 GT-R mouting points.

You MUST modify the GTS/GTR fenders if you plan to use OEM ones.

The conversion fender we are making does not require modification.

s13.5 fenders we sell fit perfectly now, the vented b-road wide version. We did have fitment issues with the non-vented fiberglass style

In the pictures we compared the R32 and S13 coupe body is more similar than the S14. Especially the rear windows.

And of course the rear will not be left oem width with a wide body front end on a rear wheel drive car, we have not worked on the rear yet.

All new Carbon stuff fits perfectly, Fenders and S15 fronts we recently fitted were perfect..

i thought this was covered in a lot of other threads.. howthe cf parts are either wet or dry.. and completely different. (price and quality)... i cant really remember...

the skyline front looks horrible on an s13.. especially a hatch..

on the FRP vs carbon thing.. carbon is better in all cases than FRP. It's just more highend , the only draw backto carbon is its cost.

ahahhaha import fan beat you guys to it. here are my grudges though.. i like how the side skirts bring life to the car, but it doesn't match up with the bumper. i don't like how the front mid section of the bumper needs to be so low. it just doesn't look nice that way. as for that project car, importfan, you should ask the guy that owns the car (or whoever) if they want to do the r32 rear. that would help out a lot.

i think this project needs a redesigned front bumper (and a gt spoiler! JdM tYtE y0) well, at least everything is going out as planned
