I'm ordering a set of front/rear STB from Boost Dynamics for my s14.
He said I can get OS or DS in the front.
And AS or OS in the rear.
I know: OS = Oval Shaft
DS = D-shaped Shaft
AS = Aluminum Shaft
(there's also steel, but I don't believe they make them for our cars, and there's Carbon fiber one for the rear, but its about $250 = no thanks.)
Anyways, what's the difference in the types of bars, and what reason would I have for going with one type over another? :confused: THX.

Also, (and i hate to ask too much, but) I need to know soon. They've got to order the bars, and I'd like to get them before the end of january <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>

I'll try one more time.
Does anybody know anything that might help me out?
Please.

any idea what brand these are??? I'm not sure how the shapes of the bars would affect anything, but generally more $$ = better quality. Why not ask Boost Dynamics for their opinion of the bars???
The way I see it, the oval shaft should be stronger in both cases.... but then again, it's only a guess.
How much are you getting the bars for??? (and once again what brand)

They're Cusco bars, and they are from Boost Dynamics. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>
He quoted me a price of $330 for the font and rear bar for an s14 (98). Something like $15 for shipping to Cincinnati (although it may go up, b/c I'm getting and intake with it as well.)
He asked me what types of bars I want. I emailed him back, but he hasn't email me yet.

Cusco makes Front and Rear Carbon fiber bars.. no clue why one type would be better than another though. I just bought the front stb that was $40 from PDM. the rear was about the same. Enjuku has a bunch of different stb's with pics too.. it worked wonderfully. It was oval, pretty sure it was solid aluminum. (because of how easy it was to scratch)

The guys on the Freshalloy.com forums always recommend the OS bars. I believe the OS bars are thicker and stiffer, but I'm not entirely sure. They also look better IMHO.

Get the D-shaft for the front becuase they are stronger and looks better.
Get the OS (Oval Shaft) for the rear becuase other than CF shaft, there's nothing else for the rear from Cusco. Although new arrival is the triangular shaft for the s13's in the rear, it's a 3 triangle branch brace for the rear.

hmmm that's funny b/c i have a Cusco rear OS bar... the traingle brace has been around for quite awhile too. a guy on the 240-list has it in his S13 coupe... mine should be arriving from Japan any day now, hopefully before Christmas
