I got some teardrops for 10 bux but theyre a lil dirty. Do they have to be really clean for mounting tires? I wiped em down with a wet towel, it helped, but theres still some brown dots that dont come off. No, I dont think its rust, its like drops of sap maybe...

So, should i turn to chemicals like Quick Silver, or is it OK to mount tires on a rim if its a little dirty?

i dont see why it would hurt anything as long as the edge is clean so that the bead can seat nicely

Wire brush around the lip where the bead seals if it has a bunch or gunk, dirt doesn't really matter.

yep, wire brush should do it. if not, have the tire place put on some bead sealer and that should solve it.

Just take it to the tire place, if it's really bad, they'll use a wire brush wheel (one of those electric ones that usually has a grinder next to it). I used to work at a tire place and that was a bitch because i never got tips for doing that, and its a pain in the ass to go all the way around the wheel twice (two lips). As long as the guy knows what he's doing, he won't fuk anything up.
