I've stumbled unto something truly grand. Actually more like my friend did!
.
One of my really good friends recently got a job with a shop in the Bay Area (I can't tell you where) The owner interviewed him, they had lunch, and the whole deal. My friend is 21, and has 4 ASE certifications, waiting on two more. Yeah, yeah, that's nice and all, but the best part is that his new boss has been racing 240's for years!! My friend doesn't know too much about SCCA racing, and he thinks his boss races in the GT3 class. Neverthe less, his boss has been pretty dominant with his S14 he tells me.
.
He got to see the car, and he said that the only thing stock on that thing is the block itself, and the roof! The guy has custom trannies with crazy cooling fins sitting around. He also has a collection of headers he has made hanging on the wall too. Each one making more power than the next. The engine is also running ITBs. When he told me this, I thought "I have to see this"...
.
.
.
well, he sent me pics, check them out.----->

yep, that's a 240, (or what's left) (full tubeframe racer) and a KA block being prepped for this year's season. I'm supposed to go visit him at his new work place soon. I can't wait! I wonder if his boss will sell me one of his headers :faint:

I'll see if they will allow some more pics.

Yeah, usually GT3 240s = Carb'd SOHC KAs. Maybe your friend mistook velocity stacks for ITBs.
Anyway, that car is sweeeeet. I want.

some more info, the car is definitely using a DOHC, not sohc. It also uses 4 master cylinders. (one for each corner). Extensive head work, header work, and everything in between. Don't know how much HP yet, but that will be figured out soon. More pics later on this week too. I want a header from this guy even more now that I've verified that it's a DOHC motor.

i've heard that most 240's in SCCA use ka24e's built with ITBs. But thats cool about his boss.

The equal-length manifolds that are used on the NASPORT GT3 240SX exits out the side of the car... without extensively modifying your steering column and your firewall you cannot fit this onto a street car.

I have pics of these cars from ALMS race from 2002 at home.
