I have a 1997 with an SR (NO ABS) and I'm looking into getting an LSD. I've found two I'm considering. One is from an R33 Skyline, and has everything I need to bolt it up supposidly. The other is from an S14 w/ABS, and has 65k miles on it. It bolts right up as well, but I'll have to compress or whatever because of the ABS sensor. I was wondering which is a better buy... both same price ($400 shipped). Is the Skyline one better because its a better car? Stronger, etc...?
Thanks,
John

I have no idea about the R33 vlsd, but I have a 95 S14 with a redtop SR (no ABS) with an S14 VLSD (w/ ABS) and it fits perfectly fine.

Are you sure about the compatibility of the R33 diff? Don't those have funky 6x1 output shaft flanges where the S14 diff would have 3x2 flanges? Maybe I'm thinking of R32? Anyway, I'd say no to VLSD and wait for an HLSD to show up. $400 is A LOT for a VLSD.

I agree it's a lot of money. But they're becoming a bitch to find... and if you could please show me one cheaper than $400 shipped I'd be very grateful! Also, the R33 doesn't just bolt up, that's why he's giving me axles etc. along with it.

neither, a VLSD is a VLSD. One is not better than the other. Just get the one that bolts up easier.
