Never heard of a t2 or what u mean by 86? I ran a gt3082 I believe thats the biggest 30r you can get. It was amazing, spools fucking fast and made good power without choking up top.

what manifold you running with it....stock cast or equal?

Just to understand what you are saying. you have a gt30 w/ T2 turbine housing (.86)?

better of using the smaller .63 housing

if your using the bigger .82 housing to try and make more power your better of just stepping it up to a bigger turbo

^ why? Smaller turbo will choke up top. The 82 is great for high ho application as he wants and is capable of more. It's perfect, a larger turbo will just lag and a smaller ar won't be able to breathe.

im gonna have to agree with STR8E180 on this.... a .63 would be a better setup since he is only looking for 450hp.... he'll be able to make that with a faster spool than a .82 especially considering he wants to use a t2 flange....

im using a gtx3582r (twinscroll) and looking to make ~550-600 and if my turbo was single scroll i would have ran a .63 housing.... for the same #s (but more lag....)

What engine are you running that gtx on? How do you like it? I was looking into the new garretts ball bearings they seem legit.

because there is more to choosing a turbo than hp rating

I'm not a big fan of T2 flanged GT30XX turbos. I had issues keeping my EGT down with the setup. Most I managed to boost up to is about 14 psi before my EGT would go all to hell. From what I was told, the T2 flange is too restrictive and wasnt letting the exhaust to flow out fast enough, basically chocking up the exhaust. Ended up running a T3 top mounted GT3582R and I was hitting 28 psi with no issues.

I've never had this problem
We had a gt3071 T2 flanged internal gated .64 running on 24psi no problems

Also had a gt3076r with HKS T2 flange .61 running on 35psi with out any problems

I'm running precision 6262 with a .63 exhaust housing I was able to make 750hp at the rear wheels
Just goes to show how much power can be made with a baby .63 housing

If your using a bigger exhaust housing to make power your better of stepping it up to a bigger turbo with a smaller rear housing compared to using a smaller turbo with a bigger rear housing

You do realize that A/R is area radius RATIO, right? So your .63 AR 6262 is not nearly the same as a T2 .63 AR.

Forgot that he was talking abou a t2 flange
Yeah I know the t2 versions are heaps smaller
ATP have a t2 exhaust housing which has the exact same flow as the t3 just with a t2 flange
