So heres the story. My car has power fc ecu and was tuned prior to me purchasing the car. The tune that was on it seemed way too rich and always wanted to stall. My o2 senser pretty much always showed full rich. On the power FC there is an option to reset everything to factory defaults and somehow that button got pressed. May have been me may have not. I have the tune that was on there prior to the reset, but I drove the car around the block with the default pfc tune and the air/fuels were just slightly rich. Car didn't have any idling problems and didn't get hot.

I'm planning on having it dyno tuned regardless of what I do, but I was wondering if it will be harmful running it on the default pfc tune. Seems to run great. Like I said i have the tune that was previously on it. (which didn't seem very good)
Thanks!

Default tune is rich and safe. The idea is that its safe enough to drive the car to your tuner. It is not designed to get stomped on.

It's ok just do the inj correction and drive in the lower RPM range to get it tuned. I wouldn't prolong running on the base tune, I personally done this with a S14 SR PFC and your car will run like ass and the mileage will suck. Tuning prices have seemed to decreased and if you're in San Diego your in the best area. I have seen other models (FD3S) perform well on base tunes but I wouldn't recommend it.

Well I would think that it would run like ass too.. But it runs better with the default setting than with the tune it came with.

fuel is the tricky part for people on the internet. timing on the other hand, does not change much engine to engine. not MUCH.

make sure peak timing at any boost above 7psi is between 9-12* for best safety, with 9* being closest around 3500-4800rpm, and 12* being up past 7000rpm.

So the row that says 7psi ( usually 15000) should read:
9 9 9 9 9 9 9 9 9 9 9 10 10 11 11 12

Turning to 10* just past 5000rpm
it should be pretty close to that from the factory anyways.
