ok so im planing on getting rid of the broken ka and throw in something else this is where my problem is i know its really easy to do a sr swap and that it will cost me 3400 for the motor and install with fuel pump intercooler etc. so im wandering how much an rb 25 would run me , all the things needed to make it run, mods and other things or if anyone has done all thins and how much it cost for them

What is your purpose for the car?
If the purpose is a drift missle then I would go with the sr, but if the purpose is a drift rocket, then i would go with the rb25.

Well a properly done RB25 swap is gonna cost you more than 3400.
I'd personally go with the RB25 but the SR20 is a great engine too.

people are going to hate no matter what, just do what you want, id pick rb over sr, myths of parts not being available for rb's is BS!

i have done some searching and i have found that rb is better in anyway in my opinion, my hart tells me go with rb series but my pocket tells me go with sr ,
my intentions are to daily drive the car with some drifting on the side untill i get another daily then its going to become a track car

Well, you aint gonna do an RB25 swap for $3500. Well, I take that back...it is possible if you get a complete clip and reuse alot of the stuff from it. How reliable it would be would be a different story.

IM thinking rb would be a good route, but if you are poor like me. Go with the Sr. cheap but reliable also. Both engine lines are great

What's wrong with your broken Ka?... Put $2000-2500 into rebuilding and turboing the ka, no swap necessary.

I was in the same postion but i went with what was easier for my abilities and my wallet and went ka-t. Not a bad motor and if you're willing to spend 3400 on an sr i'd say throw all that money towards ka-t
