ive been wondering if a bolt in cage would be worth getting just for extra support in the car and to make it stiffer. has anyone had any experience with the cusco 6 point cage?

Dont do it. They tend to flex at the mounting points. and if you were ever to flip over the bolts snap and the cage usually ends up causing damage to you.

I've tossed this idea around a couple times. What about getting a bolt in cage and bolt everything together and weld it solid? I think that would be the best option if you don't have a tube bender. Just my .02.

if you did do any "bolt on" cage, the main halo one should be welded on now the bolt on parts would be the door look at blu88's stuff on the Fabrication thread he's done some for the R35's

looks like there wasnt enough surface area/reinforcement to distribute the load, so it poked through.
For close to the same price you can get the Mazworx (http://www.mazworx.com/product/safety/uweld-roll-barscages/nissan/uweld-roll-bar-6-point-nissan-schassis) and have it welded in.
Ive seen people also weld in their Bolt In Cages.

on mine i actually welded 1/8th 6x6 inch in size to the floor, and then made the holes to bolt them in addition i also had a lower 1/8th plate.. let me see if i can find the pics but they are up onb the fabrication forum

If memory serves, cusco cages are not FIA approved, not even FIA specced.
Cage going through the bottom of the car is not caused by bolts, it is caused by weak / rusted bottom.
I got a half cage in my s13, works wonder, way better than any bar i could fit before. Sold all of them right after.

i may just save up and get a legit cage and not have to worry about a thing and if i do decide to get serious with drifting its already in there and good to go. thanks for all of the advice

Godrifttoday did it right.. Thats exactly how its supposed to be done! This is also how weld in cages are done.
